I posted this in another thread but i think it's worth a try....I say we all bombard the ask the producer thread and twitter and bomb the hell out of the live twitter feed with pre translated from English to Japanese questions about the lag then maybe we might get some form of acknowledgement even if it is more bullshit about zooming the camera out as if that's ever going to fix the cheap shitty coding se outsourced.......

I voted with my wallet today an cancelled the auto-sub. Two weeks and 13 pages more posts on this thread since the last time I looked and still no update.

Genuinely sad to do this but I feel it's a sufficiently big problem with the game that I can't accept the fact that there's still no reponse after all this time and continue paying a subscription in good faith.

It's really a shame as RR has so many good things going for it, but I don't want to play a game with unresponsive netcode where end game content has to be based around memorising set patterns to be viable for a a large chunk of the playerbase.

I genuinely hope that SE address this issue or at least give an indication of their plans, but until that happens, I'm out.

The game is dead. Well, for me at least.

Beyond a slap in the face that they haven't taken this issue seriously.

I'm willing to give SE the benefit of the doubt to say that 0.3s interval is an industry norm, as opposed to say the industry norm is 0.1 and they somehow thought 0.3 was going to cut it. Either way, either the 0.3 is an industry norm but SE somehow managed to fail at something no other MMORPG did, or 0.3 is not an industry norm and for some unknown reason SE thought it was going to work.

    It's all about priorities.
Isn't it obvious that they do not care for responsiveness or fluidity in their game?
Every UI action has lag built into it, combat mechanics have lag built into it (animation delays, skill effects applying after animation ends etc.)

SE simply does not care about this that much, control is not king here. They think people can live with it, because it is a matter of "taste". And they are right, there are plenty of clueless people, who never had better experience in mmorpg, and don't know what we are talking about. And those who do, will be back on their epic quest, to find another wow killer, soon enough. Wildstar next in line.

I think you're right to an extent. For whatever reason they seem to think that the issue can slide (likely cause there are many people still going "get better PCs/internet/skills). As it is now, it's kind of a time bomb. People are being patient and hoping it's getting fixed. Many people mistake the issue for lag itself, or think it's just them (until they come to the forums/reddit, if they ever do, and see that it's not). Eventually, people's patience will run out. They will see major patches coming out without the issue being addressed, and they will leave because every time you're out of things and see yourself get hit it's frustrating. Add to this the players in pugs, and sometimes your Free Company or Linkshell yelling at how you're bad, and players constantly telling you that you suck, and it makes for a really really shoddy game experience. It literally takes the fun out of playing.

Will enough players leave to actually kill off the game? I don't know, I think it's a valid possibility. As I've stated before I think this is the only real game-breaking issue currently in the game. I do think it will end up causing many people to quit as time progresses, and eventually someone higher up is going to have to admit there's a problem. The question is if they're going to wait until a huge chunk of players have already decided to let the game go. Have to bear in mind that a majority of people that quit aren't going to come to the forums to say why, or even to try and get the issue that caused them to quit fixed. They simply don't care enough to do it.

Most of those "evidence" videos from the OP just show people not moving out of red zones/plumes fast enough.

The only two videos that actually show proof of lag are:

    1. The SCH that eats a Landslide on Titan HM
    2. The BRD that eats a Piercing Laser on Turn 2 ADS

All other videos are people who can't react fast enough blaming it on "lag".

And what do you have to say against those issues?

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...s-everybody%29

Add to this, the race conditions of heals not landing in time, instant skills not registering (stuns, charge, buffs, invigorate...), etc.

I'm pretty sure enjoyable raid content should not need olympian athlete-like reaction time. We may all like to play like ninjas and legendary warriors but reality is that it's not fun to play with that tight of a timer.

-->Personally i have no problems with server latency myself. The delay with your offGCD abilities (CD's, war/drg stun and the like) wont activate when u push the button, resulting in frustrating and distracting management of said abilities.

Seems like an easy fix to me. This problem will become especially apparent with pvp. Imagine, another players skills/controls on you not noticeable until 1sec after its cast. It would be ludicrously impossible to stick to an archer, or interupt a whm. I think that a fix is almost certain to come in. It's just not likely to come in on a small patch, or maintenance session.
