Funny thing about that is that it's allowed in the game mechanics, but RMT is against the terms of service. Therefore, you should not be allowed to do so and thus it's already covered. No need to worry about something as "morally scrupulous" as buying levels. You simply have to auto-follow your friends. It's much easier and cheaper.

Yes, you could. Though, if you pay them I suspect this falls into the "RMT" category again. Since SE has no way of enforcing this type of "RMT" you're pretty much golden if you're hell bent on buying some levels. Really, though, you could just ask your friends to level you round the clock and you wouldn't be breaking any rules or violating any game mechanics. Friends don't count as 3rd Party Programs.

I don't get your point. Morality is set by the developers rules and by the individual playing who sets his own standards and sometimes by society itself (outside the game) such as "stealing is wrong, even if the game lets you do it."

It's like you're trying to tell me I cheated on my homework because I let friends help me or do it for me when the guidelines clearly state "group work encouraged." You're just imposing rules you think there should be, but aren't.

Those rules are great for you. Until the game itself changes, I'll just play by the game's rules, though.

(Note: Even after it changes, I'll still play by the new rules, just in a way I see fit within the guidelines. Not a way you see fit. It's between me and the creators of the mechanics.)
