There are 2 versions of this I am going to address

1) Multiboxing where the user is next to ALL the computers being handled by it, technicaly the person is never afk if hes able to minitor all computers
2) Multiboxing where the computers are not next to each other, where the person is technicaly "afk"

example 1 is 100% legal, you are at the computer, just not doing anything on it, your able to moniter it and do other stuff if need be cuz its right there.(i do this to an extent, but only as a mule to hold crap in for the time being cuz i got alot of extra items im storing aside)
example 2 is the same as botting imo, you basicaly have a vacant computer whos sole purpsoe to to reap benefits off someone else while not playing at all

now putting someone on autofollow to leech sp isnt illegal, doing it while not at the computer for long periods of time, im sure can be construed as very illegal by the tos(im not gonna bother looking it up its too long to read) and is borderline botting without use of a 3rd party tool

if people are getting sp without fighting, thats on them, we DO NOT need to go out of our way to seek ways to stop them from doing so
the main issue here are those who are doing it in a manner that can be construed as against the terms of service...those are are doing it in a botting like fashion
