i'm glad i'm not the only one who has seen that LS do that, it's pretty lame. it's all LS members and we're not talking about 3-4 members we're talking about a full party that would just go afk and be on follow. it's cheating, I would see them in Broken water with full pt and Archer would lead the group and kill all the doblyns while the pt leeched. if you don't see a problem with that then idk what to say but that really doesnt speak well on the morals of your character.
Why give the developers more work to do if u allready able to do something against leechers? They could implement the following rules to gain SP. You have to earn atleast 2 points from the bottom to get SP.
1 Point: Perform enough damage to remove at the minimum 6.33% of the monsters total HP.
1 Point: Perform a Buff or Defensive Buff that affects the fight. (Casting Stone skin that gets worn out by damage Taken. Using a skill that modifies another skill)
1 Point: Use enough ability's and spells that you heal 25% of your total HP as damage (Must heal actual damage taken.)
2 Points: Use a reflex skill that requires outside input to perform (Feint, etc.)
What others said: Just kick them out of PT. Very easy and allready available without additional work for the devs, which allready have alot more important things to fix/add
People will probably continue to take advantage of free characters/accounts until they aren't free anymore. I don't think anything will be done about this issue because it's something that will either resolve itself when it's pay to play, or it is dependent on people like you that choose not to play with those characters that afk to rank up. People like to take short cuts in this game and right now SE made it possible for them to do that. =( As sad as that is to say, it is true. And they have larger fish to fry then taking care of this issue.
People don't seem to understand that AFK leveling is the same as botting. People report botting all the time but not AFK leeching because they think its ok or probably do it themselves. If SE was adamant enough to create a game thats based around their anti-botting policy they should also take care of AFK leeching.
If they took away the auto follow, this would definitely help stop some of the leeching.
Think of it this way... there are not enough mobs or quick enough spawns for every person to kill solo, and some of the mobs would die so quickly you are waiting for more spawns. Being in a party like this helps maximize the SP per person, while keeping the spawns so you are always killing something.
Another solution to this issue, is making the mobs harder. Requiring more members to be active to be able to kill the mobs. Seeing as mobs can be killed with 1 or 2 members easily, it makes this easy mode and half the time the other members don't get to attack it anyways, or would cause issues when they attack.
Also, just cause your following doesn't mean you are AFK
The game allows it, so don't hate on it. I would prefer if they got rid of the ability to do it, but until then... Do whatever is best for you and/or Your LS.
I got a better idea:If they took away the auto follow, this would definitely help stop some of the leeching.

Make partying like XI (not bad).
People pay botting companies or whatever to use their bots. That is again an act of someone gaining real money from SE's real product. That is why it's a problem. AFK ranking isn't anyone making any money, it's just their character getting sp. I'm not saying I support this and I think it is bad gaming morals. But there is a difference between them.People don't seem to understand that AFK leveling is the same as botting. People report botting all the time but not AFK leeching because they think its ok or probably do it themselves. See now i'm confused as to what your talking about. Are you talking about the RMT, a bunch of random people afking, or one person with 7 computers and 7 different accounts multiboxing?People don't seem to understand that AFK leveling is the same as botting. People report botting all the time but not AFK leeching because they think its ok or probably do it themselves. 1)RMT will be dealt with when SE get's things back on track.
2)Kick the people that keep afking.
3)People will always multibox in an MMO and it doesn't affect you.
edit: Sounds like you are referring to bots though and that is a problem not someone going afk and you being the sucker allowing it for 8 leves.
