This happen in ffxi, people dual box alt characters alot. So why complain? What other people do is none of your concern. It doesn't effect you in anyway, and it is getting irritating to see people complain about other peoples buiness. If it is ruining your game that much, just politly boot them, or leave yourself.

Personally you have no right to get offended about what other ppl do. Its pretty immature. Sorry for the hostiol tone, just see it happening so much my tolerance is at a breaking point.

And Shiyo what you said about ffxi isn't true. People went afk all the time and no one cared. It didn't ruin exp all that much. I knew people who multi boxed and only played 2 characters and still got great exp.

This isn't a problem tbh, only problem here is people don't know when to stop putting their nose where it don't belong. Complaining over what others do, or how other people play is wrong. You do not know the full story, why they are afk so much.

You guys forget it is just a game.

People go afk for tons of reasons also, need to streatch their leg, using the restroom, getting food, making dinner for family, having a pet emergency, having a child emergency.
I have to go afk to do dishes or help put away groceries. Which can take up to 15 min. It be lame to have to leave a party because of that.

And trust me, I was a bit of an ffxi neet. Meaning al I did was play ffxi ( i had to quit my job for harrassment issues, and my bf payed for my account. it took a while to find a new job cuz haverhill sux)
People would go afk for up to 3 hours sometimes and it didn't ruin the exp. It was up to the leader to decide to kick or not. Only time going afk really mattered was end game events, but even a few people still do it.

Honestly like I said it is just a video game. Stop worrying or caring on how other people play. It would be their fault when they do not know how to play. There isn't really a need to get bent out of shape and force your play style on other people. This is just a game.

leeching will be a problem as long as this game is so loleasy, everything, no matter what lvl is easy (please, dont say something like, did you try nms or higher lvl stuff, i did and its loleasy).

i have high hopes in the battle/class system changes.

As soon as the content/battlecontent gets better, better AI, more things to do, more skills needed to achieve something,
less press 1111111 content, etc. every job shoudl be of use and help other ppl progress.

And still there will be leechers. So just kick them. I dont see a problem in that tbh.
And if someone wants to powerlevel a friend... well, i dont really care much, since its the future retard they are creating who doesnt know how to play and i think that in the future you will have to pay attention to your job and put more efford in then the way it currently is.

If people wanna cheat its their loss in the end....
ever played civilisation with "moneytrainer"?... it gets pointless. No challenge. you cant prevent people from abusing some systems. The only thing you can do is nerv the tiny freedom we have left in ffxiv (which already is a joke for an mmo) even more... nobody really gets hurt if someone has another high lvl -leeched job... and its not working with crafting that way...
so its not hurting the economy either.

Are you kidding me? OP thinks multi-boxing for extra links is cheating? Rofl...

That's the only thing I can see here, because if someone is just joining and afking, they'd get kicked pretty quick regardless. Comparing this to botting? Hahah.

It's a persons right to play multiple characters if they damn well please to. If you don't want to, that's your choice.

Honestly, I never spamed the 1 key... And I'm just starting. Create your own tactics.
Anty as much as I agree with ya, mind not saying the term retard. It is kinda offensive.

There's no way to "fix" this without penalizing legitimate players too and I find that to be an unacceptable solution. If you know who these players are simply don't play with them. I've seen parties before that start with "If I see you on auto-follow you're going to be ousted". All these people will have are the numbers and no skill to go with it.

No matter what they do people will do this regardless. Yes it's just as lazy and stupid as botting but they will do it either way. I'm not defending them but I'd really rather not see legitimate players inconvenienced in any way by SE trying to stop this.

Couldn't SE just add something like the old system with the current system where people who do stuff in the party get skill points and experience points per action in addition to the set skill and experience points at the end of the kill? That way those auto-follow leeches do not get as much skill and experience as those who are working hard and left behind in ranks eventually. I do kinda miss the fact that the most skill I can get off a normal mob is no longer 500 points.

Then players will be forced again to not play as they see fit but instead spam 1(or just use auto attack?) to prolong fights as much as possible. That will still bring up the same problems as the last time. The best thing to do is just kick people or be the sucker allowing them to leech.

Hmm not really, the problem before was mostly the rate which actions capped the max skill points was poorly balanced and there were no other forms of skill gain. If the monster can give you say 200 skill points max easily from actions and another 200 for the kill, I don't think people will bother to hold every monster alive just to make that 400 skill points over grinding them out normally for a quick 300 or so total from just the regular fighting.
