AFK Leveling

I've added a dev tag to the thread to make it official.
I support removing AFK levelling.
The developers added it so that in a quick pace of battles, everyone nearby would still get sp whereas in XI if you didn't hit the mob you wouldn't get any sp or if you were dead you woudn't get any sp. I'm for giving people sp if they're doing something.

But you can not allow RMT to charge players to level them, and that's what this system will allow. You can't even let shell mates level players for you. That's not fair.

Solution: if your character gains 3 consecutive sp awards while generating no enmity, it gets cut off from subsequent sp awards until it does.

Then AFK players will have to bot to continue to gain SP. They will do this, but at least it is another degree of severity and hopefully they can be caught doing it.

Thanks Peregrine. I may not agree with all your posts but sometimes you surprise me. This is a workable solution that I don't see hurting legitimate players overall. It would stop people from AFK leeching in random parties and RMT(or whoever) with those massive parties will need to bot more. Doing that they will be violating ToS and can be banned.

If I do see a problem I will address it. As of now it is the best proposed solution.

Problem with this is that alot of SP mobs are so easy they can be killed before your partymate can get a hit/spell off.

Its sad that people are getting the wrong idea about his thread. If you actually read my initial post I've not once mentioned a guy, his wife, some other guys AFK leeching. No one is pointing fingers, only people who have gotten offended by the topic have point at themselves to be victims of "apparently" harassment.

You fail to see how offensive your thread Post was. Who is it of your concern on how people play a game. They are not breaking any rules. You simple sticking your nose where it don't belong. Sorry but sweetie this us a video game. Not a work place where your brown nose the boss.

umm in ffxi you don't have to hit mobs. And ppl multi box or went afk. There is more to this then ppl realise and it getting annoying people keep ruding on this baseless judgement.

Honestly threads like these should be red flaged by mods as flame threads. All OP was doing, was getting into other peoples buiness. They do not know the full story and their only evidence is "watching others". They are complaining on something that does not effect them. And blowing it out of the water. How other players play is not anyones concern. If someone goes afk too long, politly remove them.

All this post is really about is someone is "butthurt" that people with more money are playing this game with multiple character instead of with them.

If no one here can see it, then that kinda of sad. I don't try to go afk a long time, but sometimes it happens and it is out of my control. I shouldn't be insulted for having stuff come up.

It is a video game and OP as well as several people here can't seem to grasp that.

Yeah I don't know what pages 2-15 are about. This topic is a slam dunk. I can't imagine very many people pro-afk levelling have the guts to make accounts and post.

It isn't even being "pro afk lvling". OP is shoving their nose in to other peoples play time. And crying foul on something that don't effect them. They have no valid argument and have never really shared on why they are so adement on what people do. Thet are not basing this off experience really, but tossing witch hunt style judgement calls based on what they THINK they see.

Kilta, what on earth are you talking about? If you afk level, that's not your play time. it doesn't even belong to you. You're not playing. There is no time. You have no business.

If you aren't afk levelling, and it only looks like you are, then the change won't affect you and people claiming you're afk levelling can go stick their members in a forge.

And it does affect them. You look like a better asset to people if you have the ability to level when you're not even playing compared to someone who levels everything while playing. You can't compete with some guy for a shell position with a pugilist and marauder that you played yourself compared to some buy who paid RMT 270 bucks to level their conjurer, thaumaturge, marauder, archer, lancer, and pugilist all to 50.

That's a deal. I'd pay that if it were right, fair, and allowed. But there's no way in hell that's any of those.
