Doesn't winning a battle actually feel rewarding now with 1.18?

    No more cure spamming

No more mountains of mp to secure a 10min+ long battle

You have to ration your supplies and think about efficient, smart ways to kill your enemy

no more slapping down higher ranking NMs with your r50 job, you need some help now.

Winning battles actually feels like an accomplish. Hopefully you guys feel the same way because that's one thing I've wanted to share on the forums....everything about battle just feels more intuitive now. It's hard to pinpoint every aspect, but it just does .

    I'm happy .

I'm not 50 and I highly agree. But there is a reason I'm not 50 with that said. As spamming 1/1/1/1/1/1/1 wasn't exciting enough, zerging broken leve quest mechanics was a complete turn off. Glad they got rid of both of these things although with the mechanics, the damage is far to great.

    Agreed!

It is pretty commonplace for me now to find myself broken and beaten down after a strong multi-enemy encounter. Sporting sub 100 hp and 3 mp and breathing a sigh of relief, it feels very rewarding tinkering on the edge of death like that, and being forced to play smart. This seems especially true when trying out the new defense leves. After a wave I find myself saying "I hope the next one isn't coming anytime soon! I got nothin' left" whereas before it was more like; "man, hurry up already and get here"

Battles outside of Dzemael and NMs are still as easy as ever. It'll take more than a simple MP increase to make regular battles meaningful.

Lol my gladiator can still solo highlevel mobs... they really need to nerf those blocking skills xD
But what I think was most important wasn't the MP cost but reducing the effectiveness of Twisting Vice. Without that the higher mobs just use a WS and everyone goes down instantly.

I'm still soloing mobs 6-10 ranks above me easily, but for significantly less SP than I was before and using more MP to do the exact same things. Or, I can kill things 3-4 ranks above me and get the same SP for a fraction of the trouble. I suppose that was their intent.

The changes are beneficial to the game, but I can't say that I'm personally enjoying myself more now than I was then. Less risk/reward from a leveling standpoint.

I'm eager to see the new Leve System. So you can pile up your leves under the week and release them at the weekend. Sounds great to me. Or when you're totally busy or something. Could also focus on crafting during the week, when you don't have much time and then battlecraft on weekends.

But on that crafting bit.. I think they still have to tweak that a little bit. Unless they have changed the SP rewarding during 1.18 it still feels awkward to spam Standard-Synthesis for 2-hours straight.
A huge bonus in SP if you got a lot of durability left or the quality is good, that would fix some of the Standard-spamming issues, I think.

But it would have to be adressed, that if you got good quality + high durability on low level craft that those won't outweight the higher ones. Ah well but that can be done in 2012, for now I want further Battle Adjustments and Job Adjustments ;D! Go Go Joshi!
