    First-Person View Suggestions

    Actually FPV caught me by surprise. It's a really nice addition to walk around, and a must-have for screenshots to better grasp the beautiful scenery.

    But it's klugdy.

    It you are forced to not be rendered by the game client when you go in, and appears back when you go out. It's a camera trick that really feels like a last-minute drop. I can't see my feet. I can't even see my shadow.

    But what really suffers from this are the mounts, because they aren't rendered too, and it just feels like an empty experience. I'd like to see my Chocobo or my Coeurl's head on the screen. And, of course, I feel an insatiable urge to actually feel like I'm in the Magitek Armor's cockpit. It teases me in third-person, then I go in and I'm a gas floating around.

    I know it's a delicate issue on deciding what should and what should not be rendered, but it would be great to take into consideration by the devs. What do you people think about FPV?

    if i remeber from beta phase 3 so meny had complaned that the chocobo's head was in there way and a nusance that they got rid of it in first person mode its kinda like the log out timer so meny wanted it in now people want it out the most i hope they can do is a option for it becuse first person mode dose feel like i am a plasmoid insted of a adventurer

    I really like the 1st person view too! Didn't even notice these issues.
    Running around as lalafell in first person really makes the world seem HUGE and some of the bigger monsters look quite intimidating.. And when in high grass you can't see anything. ;D

    In beta a few asked to have hands/mainhand/shield rendered, and movement keys to operate, like in Skyrim

    Yeah, I found the same thing. I was pretty excited when I heard there was a FPV option since that's how I prefer to play, but it definitely feels awkward. I'd personally like to see the arms/hands of my character like FPV normally has in other games. Running and walking is also looks super smooth (no camera bobbing all over the place) which feels very unnatural. I'd love to see any/all of the improvements you mentioned.

    That being said, I'm glad they even included a FPV, since I know that's not how a lot of people choose to play. I probably wouldn't put improvements to the FPV very high on my wish-list either, since I have only really use it when I'm running around the world or taking screenshots. I doubt that the amount of effort needed to creat a 'proper' FPV would really pay off in terms of player satisfaction though...

    (We can hope though!)
