It would be nice to see a bigger focus on leveling content.

Most people are interested in the massively multiplayer aspect of MMOs. Not the endgame consisting of small groups farming dungeons repeatedly. Many who prefer the endgame will simply move back to WoW. It's hard to compete with a game that has had almost a decade to add content and polish. Even many of my hardcore friends who are interested in raids say that the game's strong point is the world and story quests.

Details of upcoming content patches mostly talk about endgame content. And so far, we've seen patches to fix AK speedrunning and queue times, while none of the leveling issues have been addressed.

If things continue this way, i just don't see this game keeping most of its subs in 1-2 months. A lot of people are getting sick of the focus on endgame in MMOs. For those that aren't, there is still WoW or even any of the F2P WoW clones(some of which do more to deviate from WoW endgame than FFXIV).

I don't get what's more massively multiplayer about leveling up versus doing dungoens.

You seem to be missing the point about MMOs, not everyone else. The game is just beginning when you reach the highest level. This is true of pretty much every MMO in existence. FFXIV even steps a little bit away from that for the first time player by giving them an engaging story to play as they level up the first time.

Leveling up is never the best part of an MMO. Which isn't to say it's not enjoyable, but it's just one piece of a very large pie.

-FATEs giving massive amounts of EXP despite being so easy.
-EXP given from battle leves is so small it's hard to justify using your allowances on them
    -Guildhests only worth doing once
-Dungeons by themselves are not worth doing
-Large amounts of trash in dungeons in general. Nobody likes trash.
-The level 15-30 dungeons should do more to set you up for the harder dungeons later on. Far too easy. Many mechanics easily ignorable.
-Number of quests available shrinks as you keep gaining levels. The alternatives to quests are much more tedious. Especially a problem if you are leveling a secondary job.

Only true of WoW clones, actually.

I think you're complaining just to complain, it's not supposed to be easy to level up second, third, fourth, etc. classes. Seeing as how you're highest level is only 29, you really don't have much experience with nearly half the content of the game. Come back and talk when you're lvl 50

I am not complaining. I am simply suggesting that they try to focus on the strong points of this game, rather than endgame like all those other WoW clones that failed to meet expectations.

I have plenty of friends that either rushed to 50, or played 1.0 to 50. Again, they say the strong points of the game are in the world and story, not the endgame.

The same friends say the endgame is exactly like WoW endgame now too. If that's the case, then i may as well have already experienced it.

8 man dungeon runs easily give more XP than FATES, sadly the majority of the community hasn't realized this yet, also, why play again if you're not aiming to get to the end, the journey is always better than the destination, but the journey is far from over at level 50 in this game

obviously i'm not the only one who bothers posting on the forums with this opinion.

The game's strong point is its beautiful world. And that is why most players right now are still playing the game. Not because farming AK is so fun.

I was thinking the same thing. WoW to me is a terrible game. I want end game conent because this is an amazing mmo. The difficulty and flow of battle is perfect at end game. After beating Garuda hard mode I started clapping cuz it was so awesome! The fight was extremely fun and I look forward to Titan and beyond.
