I have a couple questions relating to crafting (Dragoon)

Hey guys,

So I want to level a crafting skill to 50, but want it to be one that is useful to me...

I am a level 40 Dragoon (and because of somewhat limited playtime will be sticking with this class for the foreseeable future)

Is it pointless to level leatherworking at this point? I start gathering relic gear soon so will there be any armor I can craft that is better or would it just be futile?

I also understand that lvl 50 Dragoon armor is repaired by armorsmith and not leatherworker (little sense that makes...) but with the now patched repair price, is it worth it to level that?

I just dont want to sink a bunch of gil into leveling a craft and find out its useless at 50...please give me some feedback..thanks : )

Blacksmith and Armorer (leveling Miner with them is a good idea too).

thanks...mind telling me what benefit those have for my class...is it just for repair?

choose something that you'd like to be able to do for yourself. Being able to repair is nice, maybe alchemist for potions? Any other DoW or DoM you plan to level? maybe take that into consideration as well. You could always level miner or botanist to create an income option as well.

The miner will let you get the ores needed for your blacksmith (in hopes of saving you money from buying the mats). The blacksmith will create the ingots and metals you need to produce armor (that Dragoons can wear) with your Armorer. Also repairs can be done with them, yes.

well i love the idea of crafting my own weapons and armor as ive done in mosto ther mmos...but it doesnt seem like thats really a viable option once you hit 45...

Don't forget you're able to attach materia to your own gear without having to pay someone to do it
