Still cant create a new character?

I've been patiently waiting to create a character on Behemoth (NA) so that I can play with my friends. I havent even set foot into the game, and wont, until I can create a character there.

I logged on today to see that the character creation restriction page states that Behemoth is open for new characters. Yet when I tried to create one, the server is still greyed out and not accepting newbies.

Whats the deal here? Am I missing something?

My server is not on the closed list either. I just deleted a character on there to create a new one and I cannot do so. I am worried when they do an update in a hour and 20 min it is going to be closed off. I keep refreshing every 3 minutes and hope. This is quite frustrating. If the server is listed open then it should be right?

You'd think so. Only reasoning I can come up with is that as soon as they opened the server for new characters the influx of people who are sitting around waiting was so great they closed it off soon after - yet haven't updated the page to say so.

I just can't get over being locked out of Cactaur.....Gilamesh and some of the other heavy populated worlds are open. It makes no sense. I would think if you deleted a character, you would be able to make one. Sigh. I just wanted to play on the same server as my son. It is very frustrating.

They open and close periodically. All the servers were open in the morning and now some are closed.

It is based on the number of concurrent logins, so more populated servers will likely be closed at peak hours.

What makes no sense to me is why they would block a server that you already have a character on. I'd like to make an alt on Gilgamesh but it won't let me. I can't play both characters at once so it's not like I'm contributing to any more server load. Is their a reason for that?

Behemoth was open for almost the whole day and night for the last two days..but I guess it was only a matter of time before they closed it again :|

I am Australian and want to play with Australians. I actually wasted 1 week of my 3 weeks holiday trying to find others in my timezone only to find that Masamune and Tonberry were locked to character creation. I found they are usually opened at like midnight Sydney time and locked in peak times. So my suggestion is to make a 2 characters split all professions and classes between them and keep them on your high pop server so that when its locked youve got 2 that you can play.

I know how you feel. I am in the same timezone as you. I waited for many weeks for Behemoth to open, and when all servers opened after the maintenance, I quickly created my characters immediately.

Another thing people need to consider, is the locking of servers is stopping the flow of Gil spammers creating new Spammer bots. That is why they have started resorting to hacking accounts, because they can't get in the game otherwise.

Is it a perfect method? No. But until they can fix the problem with a more permanent solution
