launcher not loading.

Hi.

My partner can not get his launcher to load, it just remains blank, he cant even get onto the forums, so i am posting on his behalf.

When he opens the launch it just remains black. it did say to open from the boot file did that and still nothing. he downloaded a new security program which blocked the update from installing. The program has since been removed from his computer.

help please
