AFK Timer vs. Dungeon Queue - Please increase timer length!

I've waited in the queue 20+ minutes before, and I think 30 minute AFK timer is a little too close for comfort. Could it please be 45-60 minutes before auto-logout?

People keep countering arguments with "BUT ALL THE OTHER GAMES DO IT!", which is fine, but all that means is that in WoW, I had to continuously walk over and tap "w" while queuing for a battleground while on the low-pop server I started on years ago.

Alternatively, disable the auto-disconnect feature while in queues, instances, or CSs...

With login issues all-but-alleviated, I don't think that it is such a pressing issue that 30 minutes should be the limit. I realize the feature serves a purpose for the server, but I think giving everyone ample events without d/c is important too. Say I was waiting for an endgame event and afk--someone says in FC chat the event is cancelled. Guess whose chat log will be wiped on return?

I realize these are all extreme examples, but I honestly don't think increasing the timer would interfere with performance (to be honest, I didn't witness any issues on my server with NO timer).

I recommend being constructive in your queue times. I have heard from multiple people that once you queue, you can switch your class to that of a gathering or crafting, and you can work on that while waiting for the queue, and it should put you back into your original class once the dungeon starts. I can't sit there for 20+ mins waiting for a dungeon queue to pop, I have to go do something other than stand there with my character.

See I agree with the OP, when I am not running with the FC and pug something with the DF I queue up and then go do work on my other computer waiting for the DF pop chime, and now if this takes more than 30min and I have not pressed a button not only do I lose my spot i get disconnected even though I am feet away from my game. Yes I can just hit a button every 5min, but if i'm busy working its not something I am going to be thinking about.

Suggested change is if in Queue and are AFK it stays logged in, but if it has been greater than 30min and you fail to accept the DF pop you are then logged out.

Well I suppose that would work... but then you'd get people signing up for instances purely to prevent themselves going afk. Quite often, as a DPS, queue times are up to an hour or longer.

If you are only feet away from the computer, pull up the game and do a 360 every 15 min. That timer build into most watches and phones is super handy.

So you can't stop your work to hit a button. But you can stop your work to play the entire dungeon. Makes sense.

You shouldn't be AFK with the duty finder. What if you're AFK and get summoned to a dungeon but you miss the "accept" part? So you can't truly be AFK, how hard is it to "move up" to snap out of the idle? Pointless thread.
