Just heard I need to do 64 runs of AK just for basic gear... should I just quit?

And now the recipes are even more expensive than darklight. I mean you need 7 cokes for a Darksteel Ingot!?!?!?!?, and each coke is 100 tomes?!?!?!?!? that makes Darksteel armor more expensive to farm/get, and makes no sense. I Rather get darklight instead.

Unless your from 1.0 and have tons of Coke left and can afford to blew a few trying to get HQ.

The simple solution to this is do not pug. Spam for like minded individuals and make groups. With out speedruns DF AK groups will make you hate your life more often than not. Castrum may become an option now but if you get in a group with people who want to watch every cutscene you'll find it miserable to farm too. Before the flaming starts yes yes I know they have every right to watch the cutscenes. But I personally feel its rude especially since you can watch them in inn.

You can fix that by getting a group that only wants to Farm Castrum. /tell a few friends, /shout for remaning spots and your good to go.

I have still not scene the cutscenes rom cape westwind to the end of the story. Still don't know what happen to vanished. I knew I could watch them in the inn. Why piss off people that are trying to help me.

As stated you can run Castrum... but currently, there really isn't much "endgame"

Rather than burning out running the same instance over and over, I turned to leveling gathering and crafting. Until they put out more endgame content, I wouldn't bother. The only thing at "endgame" right now are e-peeners, bleeding edge FCs, and of course- some legacy.

You aren't really missing much by skipping it at this point. Once the end game is more fleshed out, then it will be more engaging. They will prolly reduce the requirements on gearing for it as well, since that is when they will be prepared for players to really enter endgame.

I would recommend leveling more classes to 50, one of the best things ARR have is that on one char you can be every class/job. Are you bored of tanking? change to any DPS class. Are you bored of doing the same Dragoon Combos?, change to Black Mage, Summoner or Archer, ranged play quite differently.

I understand where your coming from this game isn't everyone cup of tea just like it is actually a rare majority that truly 100% any final fantasy game. The game is a time sink by design and it is hard to skip steps in the pattern. But by all means do not stay and hope it gets better if it is litterally not entertaining at all just be willing to follow along the news so if it does you can jump back in. Now this might sound strange from a legacy players specially a pro SE one but waiting for the miracle patch to fix all your problems with the game hurts more and more the longer it doesnt come. So if the progression style is what your looking forward to and it is not for you then don't do it but if you still want to do the stuff after the unpleasant part then you will have to grin and bear (or complain on the forums) but it will have to be done.
