Mhm, I disagree and all. This is an online world. Just because some people don't have other ways to enjoy the game besides bonking monsters on the head doesn't mean others' ability to use it to chat friends or use the game as a medium for text roleplay should be compromised.

Yes, something needs to be done to make things harder for RMT spammers, but using the chat not resetting the AFK timer isn't it.

Perhaps something a little more clever, say.. characters that are on their free trial period/haven't paid a subscription can only send tells to people on their friends list/LS mates? I'm not sure about the shout channel of course.. hm.
