Major slap in the face to 1.0 players that obtained a Gamblers Crown. Why not offer a very similar reward with a very similar name, hell even use the same model for the crown...

In 1.0 the crown could take about a month. Mainly because you would only get a handful of attempts every week or so before you wiped out the market wards' supply of low materia. It took about 30 high-level gloves and about a million or more gil in the end. I obtain it within 60 seconds after unlocking the quest, spending no more than 500 gil. What a joke.
Heheh. So true! I actually spent millions and countless items and time trying to get it in 1.0 - I had the worst luck!In 1.0 the crown could take about a month. First thing I did in 2.0 was go get my Materia Certification and boom about 5 minutes later I had my crown. Took me longer to figure out where to actually pick it up than to do the melding!!
so if something has identical stats, an identical model, but a different name, its considered a different item?
how the hell does that make any sense whatsoever?
note: this is not about difficulty in obtaining, or anything else in your post. just about the weirdness that same stats + same model - different name = different item. it isn't a different item
Where exactly does the OP say anything about identical stats?so if something has identical stats, an identical model, but a different name, its considered a different item?

It makes sense because all they needed to do is make a very similar item OR the same item and just add -Legacy text at the bottom. Just ANYTHING to tell that a player obtained this item when it was x1000 times harder to get.
I got mine fairly easy, I guess I was lucky.
I don't care if others get it though, mine is just more special.
I wouldn't be opposed to the Legacy version having better stats though, ie a crafters head piece.
