    The Linkshell System

I would like to see this game remove 8 different LS equiped at one time and fall back to its former self where you can kick anyone from where you are and have more controll over things

    Changes

*Make /lsmes work so members can see what events are planned
*Use of one Ls at a time
*Newer designs of pearls user customizable upload/make unique crest/pearls

    more to come later

I think its a little late now that everyone has multiple linkshells and some guilds use multiple linkshells for different things within the guild.

I prefer the multi linkshell use, because then I can view other LS's without being in them.

This would be good in an XI example for such as you're planning to do Dynamis and you dont really want to be stuck in your Dynamis LS to know when things are starting and where to go etc, well you dont need to be you can stay in your social and still listen in.

I think they already commented on the customizing color thing that it would be hard to do LOLOLOLS. Same is with the chat colours.

    Why?

Certainly, there's nothing stopping you from starting a LS with a rule that it has to be exclusive. I know one LS on my server that used to have this rule, but even they changed it.

Why do you want to limit everyone to one LS at a time? What would it help?

Personally I think people should just have one linkshell, you have a social list which is more than adequate for getting things together cross linkshells and the companies will probably bring linkshells together as well. Also people put a lot of time into building a linkshell and watching it die because your members have no loyality is a sad thing. I started one on Trabia, which died because people used different shells, so when it came to linking most people had gone off and done their own thing. Then people who showed up to do linkshell stuff were mad because other just wanted to piggyback on their leves. The one I run now on Lindblum pretty much has the one linkshell rule and we are active throughout the world, with above 25 members on at all times. People party with people from other shells using the social list. A lot of people within my linkshell agree with my rule too, we are not elitist or anything, I just want to see something I have put a lot of time and enough into survive.

I do remember Yoshi saying that he was going to reduce the number of people in linkshells greatly and I feel that would make linkshell leaders more inclined to be exclusive. If you only have a max of 30 members then people who did not use your linkshell would probably be asked to drop. I would like Yoshi to comment on this matter. If he really intends to reduce the linkshell cap and if we will ever have controls for leaders.

I do not recall saying they were reducing LS size. But they are making content around smaller sizing. Which is why they have the 2 seperate party systems. I do not like the 1 LS rule. It will not help the issue at all. I ran guilds on WoW and still had the issue. What leaders need to do is get active people who are on alot. And get them to want to help recruit. Like contests and prizes. A person will not stay in a quiet Linkshell or guild.

Forcing people to have 1 will do nothing to loyalty, nor is having multi LS's decrease in loyalty.

Personal experience, is the more rules you have less likely people will join, this is a video game not a work place. The sooner people realise this the better.

I also like the ability to equip multiple LS, once you change each LS text to a different colour its not so bad.

SE need to give the ability to chat between LS, instead of /l they should change it to /1 /2 /3 kind of like separate channels.

Indeed, I like being able to use different linkshells to talk to different groups of friends. Just because they are not in my main LS does not mean I should have to resort to using a friend list way of contacting each and every member in the other LS.

Oh I know.. It is a pain. This happen in WoW with my guild. People left but still were my friends and trying to have a convo was horrific. I think people forget that mmo are video games. You don't really need strict rules. Its just meant for fun, and relaxing entertainment. Not forcing people to act like it is a job with strict rules and scheduals. Getting forced to go to events isn't fun. More so if there is a D-bag in the shell who harasses you during the events with threats of bodily harm.

I met quiet a few psychos in mmo. Stalkers and such. It really brings the fun down.

He said this during his visit to Europe, I am still looking to try and find the reference but it is on Core, so if you have more time than me (I am at work) you should be able to find his interview there. In that interview he said he would like to reduce linkshell size and and party size.

Edit: I found the link to the interview: http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/30169...er-linkshells/

I think one of things I find frustrating about yoshi he says things and then waits a long time before mentioning them again.
