Doesn't matter what SE changes, someone will always complain.
Up trash mob gil to 400g/mob. Still not good enough.
Give them 50% chance to drop armor pieces. Still not good enough.
Cut trash mobs down by 60%. Still not good enough.
Triple the tomes dropped in AK. Still not good enough.
Maybe SE should just open up a cash shop so everyone can just buy all their goodies in a 24 hour
period then just shut down the game a week later. I question why some people even consider
playing MMOs. Just quit now, save us the trouble later.
Ilvl70 gear is superior to ilvl90 in certain slots for certain classes and vastly superior to darklight in almost every situation when melded...
See, the AF2 gear isnt the only option at that point. Im absolutely fine with the Mythology tokens being a means of supplementing raid gear. Same in WoW with Valor points. Except Valor isnt a huge pain in the ass to get, and you dont actually need it, as getting in to the end game content isnt a huge hurdle. Its the endgame itself is the hurdle (fairly low set hurdle, but fun).
The grind for Darklight is boring. And theres not another option. The crafted ilevel 70 gear is crap in comparison.
Let me just describe my experience for a single AK run:
1. Wait in que
a) Hour long que by myself as dps.
b)Wait 30-45 minutes in que if I have a tank.
c) If i have a full party beforehand its around 20.
2. Get in the dungeon:
a) If pugs are in, probably going to wipe.(add +5 minutes for every wipe)
b) If not, about a good 45-60 minutes for whole dungeon.
3. Get gear
a) Get 80 tomes oh philosophy(faster to farm castrum or even prae at this point).
b) Get 40 tomes of myth(woot, a capped limit of 300 every week).
C) Get any DoW gear, although the drop rate(for me) is very low.
Lets just say that without speed running, I personally see no point to it. Its such a painfully long grind now for what I feel isn't exactly worth it. I mean in that time you could level another 2-3 classes or more, craft to 50, or even just spend your time doing something more productive in general.(on ffxiv or otherwise).
:/ I see no point in farming AK now

Hey SE why are you making me play the game?? That's so unfair, send my gear to my mailbox , damn scrubs! Forcing us to play it, god damn it.
This entire thread is encompassing the major problem with the games community right now, there is a huge rift between the haves and have nots. The wait time for have nots went up triple or quadruple fold to become a have and it seems the elitism has also tripled or quadrupled. This is going to ruin the long term future of the game if something isn't done.
Nobody is asking for fee gear, just would be nice to be able to obtain it at the same rate as everyone who already obtained it.
Using the duty finder for ak speed runs was no guarantee either, several failed runs in there, it still required work, now it just takes a ton more time and the same amount of failed runs. Before you say it, yes it would be awesome to join an fc that can clear it in a moderately fast time, but i cannot get accepted into any group since i dont have my darklight gear already.
To get gear for subclasses or to exchange them for crafting materials that most people don't have the luxury of attaining themselves (due to the need of getting darklight gear for much cheaper and relic oil).
I am not sure that your situation and estimates are really applicable in the context that is of primary issue here. I think many of the post here are concerned with their primary class. What you describe is more of a secondary issue that most players have not gotten to yet... not that it isn't valid, but is kind of disconnected from the issue at hand.
It doesn't really address the issue at hand, and calling out your gear in this thread seems a bit... misplaced. Although, more power to ya.
Changes will constantly be made, that's just how it is. So you're telling me that if someone found a fast way to clear binding coil, and by the time I got there it was fixed and now took longer, I have every right to be upset?
If that's the case, that gives SE absolutely no room to make changes to anything. Keep all the unintended stuff in the game, let people exploit. If it's not right the very first time, too bad.
I disagree with this. I expect to see some of you on these forums every single time a change is made in this manner now, which is silly.
