I'm curious to see the designs since they stated they are done.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
I'm all for it. I'd want to make a new character at some point anyway, maybe a when an expansion comes out.

Warning: This is a TL;DR... and I'm not providing a synopsis.
Read it all before you comment on anything I've said. I don't want to repeat myself.
I've been silently following this thread for a couple of weeks now and, up to this point, I've been reluctant to voice an opinion of any kind. Primarily, because I've noticed how quickly any topic, such as this one, in a general discussion forum can turn into a typical flame war...
but here I am. Please note that, yes, I have read through all six hundred fifty prior posts and I understand the objective of this thread; to obtain a straight-forward answer from the development team. With that said, please take what I have to say with a grain of salt, I'm not looking to piss off players on either side of the gender debate.
Personally, I have no issue with having the missing genders implemented in Final Fantasy XIV. My stance while playing Final Fantasy XI was different, simply because the lore did not allow for these races to exist within the adventuring role. Because the lore in Final Fantasy XIV leaves the option open, I see no logical reason why these additional genders could not be implemented down the line. Of course, like so many others, I'd prefer to see the game's structure and content adjusted before a feature like this is ever considered a feasible option, but I don't see a reason to dismiss it completely. If it is SquareEnix's intention to withhold these character options from the players, then it need simply be stated to the community and the lore altered to properly reflect the restriction.
Do I believe that SquareEnix would consider adding the missing genders to Final Fantasy XIV simply to appease a numbers of potential customers? Yes, and they'd be crazy not to. Especially if it doesn't interfere with their overall concept of the world and it's history. Remember, SquareEnix is a business first-and-foremost. If the development team believes that they will be able to keep more potential consumers with this idea than they would loose, they're very likely to follow through with this request. I wouldn't be surprised if, somewhere down the line, this idea was addressed in a public player poll.
In short, yes, I support the addition of these missing genders. I simply haven't seen a response yet with a valid reason to keep the development team from pursuing this if they are willing to make the change. With that said, to those who replied in hopes that this feature will one day be added to Final Fantasy XIV, understand that this feature was not 'promised' to us and we are not entitled to it. I've seen this type of wording thrown around this thread and it worries me. Tanaka stated rather plainly that it might be a possibility and we've yet to hear a formal response from Yoshida. The development team could still turn around and say 'no, it is not a feature we plan on pursuing'.
Also, one last thing I have to point out to my fellow supporters of the additional genders; and I hate to be the one to do this. Please, watch the first minute-or-so of Final Fantasy XIV's opening movie. I've provided a link to a copy on YouTube below.

Then press the back button on your browser and view this so-called concept art of a male Miqote.

Granted, the hair style of the Midlander has been changed and the Wildwood is missing his Great Axe, but it's plain to see that this screen-shot is actually concept art for the game's opening movie. Yes, perhaps it was suppose to be a male Miqote in the final edit but, more likely, the concept art and choice in hair style came across as more masculine than intended. So, going forward, please double check all posted evidence of these missing genders' existence. It just makes us look bad if we go in assuming every quick sketch of a Miqote is that of a male and discredits our defense almost immediately.
Kerberos who eats raw meat,
the hound of Hades with the voice of brass,
fifty-headed, shameless and powerful.

Those three characters look nothing like the characters presented in the opening movie. Other then one of them having similar hair to one character. But a huge majority of elvaan males pick that hairstyle anyway.Warning: This is a TL;DR... and I'm not providing a synopsis.
