I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Yeah, they do. It's weird... they showed up in the concept art with the other races, but they aren't playable. lol
Maybe it was another ditched idea.
Also... holy crap! Yay! Thank you Bayohne.

I like the idea of getting the missing genders, but not as much as I'd like new races. Especially beastmen races. I would love to be a Goblin!!
Anyways, nice to see some progress on the missing genders. Though I myself don't care either way, I'm tired of dealing with Manqotes.
Yea I can't argue with you about that. When I get tired of dealing with XIV I just go do something else until I see patch notes. SE knows they can't just be idle so I still have faith the team is working hard.

OMG!!!!!!!! Thank You Bayohne! E-highfive everyone... WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!
Yay! thanks for the reply we've been waiting for Bayohne, now lets just hope Yoshi-P decides to give it the green light.
Or the option to put the ears back (like when a cat gets angry) that would be pretty cool.
One thing is certain:
If you want to make a game with a creative or inventive race of beings that posess no gender, only one, or more than two, keep your game hidden from Cairdeas, or you won't be allowed to have it.
(To be fair, the lore of FFXIV allows for these other gender options to exist. But Cairdeas was arguing for this long before that was even established.)
Yes I was. I also argued for equal genders in Warhammer Age of Retconning. One thing is certain:

So I'm right then. You're squelching creativity. If I want to make an MMO based on the world of microscopic organisims that replicate by cell division, are you going to complain that you can't be a male or female amoeba?Yes I was. I also argued for equal genders in Warhammer Age of Retconning.
in FFXI, male mithra existed (in seclusion, but they existed), so I'd have been fine with them adding it. But not for the Galka, who are stated in the instruction manual to have "no specific gender" and are merely *treated* as males (most likely because of their appearance, sound of their voice, or other factors).
Similarly, I'm OK with it in FFXIV for that reason alone. But before SE started using the phrase "men and women," it was not OK.
