Missing Genders: A request for Male Miqote, Female Highlander, and Female Roegadyn

Way to go calling people trolls simply because they dont think is a important feature.

while I don't agree with what you're saying, I can respect your opinion. You aren't trolling, you're just saying that other things should take priorities before new races do. That's fine, I see where you're coming from (personally, cosmetics are very important to me and apparently these guys in games, though).
It kind of amazes me how quickly people are to call others trolls. Zkieve may have a different opinion, yes... but that doesn't make him a troll. It's not like he's saying "LOL ANYONE WHO WANTS MALE MIQOTES IN FFXIV ARE FURRIES AND YOURE ALL STUPID FOR WANTING DIFFERENT RACES". THAT'S a troll. He's just saying that the game has more important issues to correct first before we introduce more cosmetic things.

I'd like people to respect other's opinions... although that seems to be a lot to ask with these forums.

Anyway...

Speaking of cosmetics, I got kind of pissed off looking at the FFXIV official site yesterday. I saw some things in the old screenshots/CGI and videos that weren't in the game, like white face paint for miqo'te. Why the heck isn't this in the game right now? It's just a couple of small textures to implement, especially if they already have it done... that makes no sense. I'm still pretty appalled by SE's lack of character creation options, especially with how they were flaunting it pre-release. I hope when/if they implement the missing genders they also implement new features for existing models. ~_~
I remember when they said they added new features in Beta 3... the only thing they added was one hairstyle. For female humes. Really. Come on. I want more diversity. =\

They definately need to add more makeup options.

Also the only people I'd consider really trolling this issue are the ones who do not want them because they want to keep the FFXI lore. Which isn't even valid.

Also please stop editing the tag cloud. I wish they could let the thread author lock the cloud.

Ya i apologize for calling you a troll, you arent. I'm just tired of people who keep saying that the game needs to be fixed first, we all know that and if you read all the posts you would know that we agree with you on that point. This game DEFINATELY needs to be fixed before the missing genders can be implimented, however all we are asking for is just a clear answer on whether or not they plan on putting them in the game in the near future or way down the line.

No worries man, forums sometimes can make people jump over small stuff, i had that happen to me before as well to many times.I just take it easy and enjoy good discussions now.Kinda my fault anyways for not reading the 300ish posts >.<.

Idk if they are in a position right now to plan that far ahead.personally i like the mystery surrounding the race/genders in question ^^.Kinda would break that if you see them everywhere =).

lol true :P, but the lore/backstory is in the game that they are all common, except for female highlander, i think they are only around Ala Migho and only the males leave the city, but male miqote and female roegadyn's are both pretty common according to the lore.

For me personally I would love to have Male Miqo'tes added. The other two mentioned, well what the hell why not.

If/when they add them I agree that there has to be a form of race/gender change option be it one-off for those playing before said implementation or something like Aions (but not as expensive thanks >.<).

However, before people think I want it now now now, I do not want that, rather it be part of a proper retail expansion so for exmaple can make a storyline that introduces all these mentioned genders (female Roegadyn could be living mainly on another island close by or something).

This is one of my least important matters I would like to be implemented, however, I would still like to hear a response from Yoshi-P so it can settle alot of silly discussions across the web. So yeah hopefully we can hear at some point where it all stands with the new team.

Um , well idk i seen other games were they had the option to pick muscular women and they were never popular.

Most likely because westerner's image of muscular women inevitably leads to something quite ugly. Like I said, they don't have to be overly muscular and they can still look good despite having muscles.

As for male miqo'te, if they already have models for the NPCs, they can as well add it to playable classes. With so little choices for hair and face we have now, the difference is small.

Female Tauren, Female Orcs, Female Trolls, from Wow come to mind as extremely muscular and extremely popular amongst WoW players.

Female Orcs from Lineage 2 were extremely popular.
In Aion I've seen lots of people playing as large Buff Females on both sides.

All the females in Auto Assault besides the humans were buff and muscular and all were very popular.

The Wolf people(forgot their names) and the Orcs from Darkfall had rather large female populations.

Oh, how have we ever gotten here from the days of D&D, when people wanted to play elf paladins? Same old argument, same new spin. I say, if SE has a reason for them not to be there because of some plot element (like in 11) then let it stand. If they don't, and they don't care, then add them. If its a simple matter of not wanting/being unable to afford mo-cap for the new models, well, I'd rather they apply the funds, time, and energy to other, more game-wide improvements. As neat as it would be to have man'qote, the simple fact is that race does not matter for mechanics; its just fluff. If, after the mechanics are worked out, fluff is still on the menu, that's another matter.

There is a huge difference there that is like jumping to conclusions across the grand canyon. Female Orcs from Linage II are beautiful, what you posted is a travesty and a really bad example of what we are asking for.

Also as you obviously didn't READ the memo. FEMALE ROEGADYN, MALE MIQO'TE and FEMALE HIGHLANDERS EXIST IN THE LORE THEY ARE NOT RESTRICTED BY IT. IF ANYTHING THEIR MISSING MEANS THE LORE IS WRONG AND SHOULD BE RET-CONED OR THEIR PRESENCE SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THE FIRST POST AGAIN.
