Nope, Mithra and Miqo'te weren't female only.

Mithra from FFXI were said to rarely have male children. Usually they're forbidden to wander outside the homeland, and possibly have been under restricted freedom because the Mithra may have had a feminist ruling system.

Miqo'te haven't said much in their lore about males being a rarity as it was in Mithra lore. I think it's been mentioned that males normally prefer to be away from social activities, but it's nothing that doesn't promote there being a large number of them.

Poor Mithra Males, I'm actually starting to get interesed more in the lore of the game I also remembered that in the opening movie, the Miqo'te girl said that she would also sell her FATHER if the coin was good, so I'll assume that you are right about males not being that social.

Now, I'm wondering if the Miqo'te females can mate with human/elf males and such, would be interesting to know. Argh, I'm actually going to start reading everything I can about the lore, hahahaha, seems interesting. :P

See now, since SE can write up this lore (few! haha!) and then we get to have oodles of Miqo'te running around, it makes sense that they would also give a little leeway for the males -- which are supposed to be more solitary -- to be playable too. Quite good of them, really!

And I would totally ditch my current companion for a catboy, and trade my elezen retainer for a female roegadyn! But I am curious about their personalities . . . I wonder what they'll be like? Like elezen are snobs, hyur females are sorta blunt and no-nonsense, and miqo'te females are kinda, well . . . amorous. xD

I hope SE allows us to race change more than once. I plan to play this game for years and years like did FFXI, maybe allow us to change once a year. But really it would be awesome to have the option to change more often than that. I think it would be cool if they made it a repeatable quest in game to change race. I could imagine a quest where you help a practicing alchemist and are used as a guinea pig or something lol.

Just don't want to change to a fem Roe and then regret it in a few years or something lol

Also i think they should add new races with each expansion. New expansions offer new lore so they can't really say "well it's not in the lore so we can't" lol /loophole

I wouldn't want race change to be too common, but once a year doesn't sound too bad I guess. Most people would probably get attached to their char and keep it as is anyways.
If we're allowed more than once, I'd like it to be rare-ish and for real money (but first time free).
