Yeah, there are a ton of threads complaining about Marauder's lack of accuracy. So I'm sure the devs are aware of it.

I haven't seen any parsed numbers, but I believe Archer is #1 in DPS by a mile, and Lancer is 2nd highest melee. Then it's pretty close between Marauder and Pugilist. This is just a wild guess, but I'd probably give the edge to Pugs. Pugs do less damage per attack, but they miss less often, get a lot more TP, and throw off WSs more often, so they get more damage spikes.

Marauders miss like crazy, especially at lower levels. All those misses mean you're not building TP for WSs, and because Marauder attacks use a bunch of Stamina, you end up launching fewer attacks. As a Marauder, you're pretty much forced to use as much gear/food as you can on Accuracy, just to get it up near where other classes are without Accuracy gear. It gets marginally better at higher levels, but you're always going to miss a bunch. (During one leve in the mid-40s, I missed 9 swings in a row. And that's with 100 Dex and 4 silver accuracy rings.)

On the other hand, Marauders are head and shoulders above other melee classes in AoE. As long as end-game has multiple mobs you're fighting at the same time, Marauders will have a role. (Unless you decide to go with all Thms and Archers. )
