    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...r-das-Inventar

Dunno why there is no english translation already

    very short translation:
    1. Stack size (from high to low and vice versa)
    2. HQ / NQ
    3. Equipment with or without materials (equipment only)
    4. Spirit Bound (Only equipment, from high to low and vice versa)
    5. Standard order by name of the object
    6. Level of the item (only item, from high to low and vice versa)
    7. Level of the equipment (only equipment, from high to low and vice versa)
    8. Category of items (from high to low and vice versa)
9 Fill the empty spaces or separating the tabs of the inventory by category
It is for inventar, retainers and armory chest.
And there is also planned text commandos for advanced sort options.

I agree and have actually made a few posts about this in that quality of life thread that was going on. I would personally love to see a system for crafting materials the same as an indy game i played called eden eternal.

The method was so simple, everytime you picked up an item it would automatically be sent to an inventory list with all the items in the game and how many of each you had. This would allow of easy filtering, for example you select weaver and it would show you all the materials related to weaving. This would save us spending hours sorting and shifting through materials on our retainers. Everything we need would always be available and neatly sorted. It would also keep our bags clean for usable items such as food and potions.

I know it's probably wishful thinking but it really does simplify the whole inventory management issue.

I think the armor chest slots should have a slot memory, so when we do switch classes around we can still keep our bags organized.

Improved sorting is the thing I am actually looking forward to most in 2.1. That's how bad it is currently.

We really do need an improved inventory GUI. Cannot open all bags/slots/spaces at once like in other games, making sorting a nightmare. Same issue with retainers. The lack of an auto-sort or auto-stack button/function is also a noticeable issue. This is a horror of Lovecraftian proportions on a 1.0 character. I don't even know how I'm going to sort through everything I have. It really is a travesty.

I feel your pain. I have all crafts at 40 or above and I too am OCD and hoard everything.

Here is how I manage things so far:

One retainer is for extra gear and HQ mats. He is currently holding the U/U stuff that I don't need right now and some GC gear that I'm not yet high enough level to use, and all of my weaving mats, NQ and HQ. I have organized my mats by type, I have wood first, sticks and logs and lumber, then skins and sinew, then ores and ingots, gemstones, then alchemy stuff, which is really varied in content and I'm debating on trashing the lot of it since I hate alchemy. But anyway.

Other retainer has all my NQ mats only. All organized in the same order. This helps me easily locate stuff when I need to stack/sort.

Now, here's what you need to do in order to reduce the inventory.

Weaver: Turn all basic mats into thread. Don't keep cloth around, make only what you need for each recipe using the thread you keep on hand. This way, you end up with a stack or more of each thread, less space, more useful stuff.

Carpenter: Turn all logs into lumber. If you end up with extras, either keep them on yourself to stack with whatever new you get, or if you have a stack of that lumber already, trash them. You rarely need to keep more than a stack on hand.

Leatherworker: Same pattern, turn all your skins into leather, keep a stack, trash the rest. If your crafts are high enough level, you can even start making just HQ leathers from the low level mats.

Blacksmith/Armorer: Turn all that ore into ingots, keep a stack of each, extra ores can either be kept to make additional stacks, or trashed. Try not to make more than what you need per recipe for sheets/rivets etc. It's just not worth it to keep those around when you can easily whip one up for a specific recipe from your ingots.

Goldsmith: Either keep raw gemstones raw, or turn them all into gems, ores into ingots.

Alchemy sucks, I haven't figured out how to handle alchemy inventory, and again, I'm considering just using the mats I have to make crap I don't need for the xp, or just trashing the whole thing. I really can't overstate how much I hate this craft, but my OCD requires that I level it like the rest since they're all interdependent at some point.

If your problems are gear related, again, I have a very OCD solution for that. Level all of your DoW/DoM classes evenly, using the same gear for each and upgrading appropriately.

Hope this helps, rather than hurts ^^
