Sounds magical, it would be a shame if it was just a stick...
Unassuming sticks imbibed with invisible magics are amazing.

Just because you cant see it, doesnt mean it isnt there.

The Emperor (The Emperor's New Clothes) believed that also, and look where it got him.

    How about...shiny weapons.
Weapons that look polished to reflect light well. That way, you can have your iridescent appeal of of higher tier weapons while still maintaining the artistic continuity of the game overall.

Either way, i'd still like for enfire or similar spells to give some small elemental effect on the weapons, instead of just showing a fire effect when hitting an enemy (whenever those get around to being implemented). If not that, then just more engravings on weapons or intricately designed stuff similar to Yoshida's artwork in 4 Heroes of light or Final Fantasy XII.

More weapons similar to whatever ridged sword the Roedgyn in the early Ul'dah mission cutscene had.

IMO, weapons should not be glowing constantly, 24/7. Maybe a subtle, subdued glow, but nothing too flashy.

Save the cool elemental-enchanted, spark-filled glowy effects for when mages power up a another classes Weaponskill like the fire arrow move we saw in the opening movie.

This topic essentially boils down to the mature players in the audience fully realizing that only childish players mistake the appearance of awesomeness and power for the actual presence of it. That there is a player base so shallow that that's in fact all they need--to be visually shown how awesome they wish they were.

You could make them the weakest, most pathetic feebles known to man, but as long as they dripped fire man...they'd feel great about themselves.

The rest of us know it's just a cheap way to entice teenagers to buy the shallow product. They need that oversized flaming sword of inadequacy to feel they have any merit, we know they need it whereas we do not to make anything of ourselves or feel good about ourselves or our product, and we make fun of their obvious weakness.

Dragonballz's main target is powerless, power-wishing adolescents. The very people who are least capable of wielding any real power.

this thread boils down to people who want more visual options,
    and haterade.
Basically there are people who want the world to me more varied and diverse, and the haters who dont want anyone to be able to look different, the very sight of anything that doesnt fit their narrow view annoys them. Even if being in dipped in fire and having a huge flaming sword had nothing to do with any stats, or in fact had the weakest stats, they would still rage on seeing anyone dare to be flashy. They feel inadequate, and thus even though their own worth is not determined by anyone else, and they may in fact be the strongest player alive, they are still angry that anyone else can be flashy and happy, that anyone can feel joy by rules other than their own angers them more than anything.

I just want artistic and aesthetic continuity.
