AFK Timer:
My opening question: If the AFK-Timer was implemented from day one, would you have felt the need to request it was removed or happily accept it? -
30 minutes is only conflicting with Duty Finder and not having the comfort of leaving your machine whilst waiting. I do counter this, mainly because if you do leave your screen for more than 30 minutes and your not present, you shouldn't be playing.
For instance: If I am queuing for a duty, I can otherwise occupy myself by opening up on another screen things I want to read. - The only thing that's changed is I now have to nudge my key slightly to keep in-game.
Now suppose I leave my pc on and go for food, and it takes me over 30 minutes. Well either you eat slow, or you, again, have no reason to be kept logged in.
The AFK-Timer will have no impact to anyone, other than cause a slight "inconvenience" to lazy people. Yes I will say that is it because your lazy, as I can't possibly think of a situation where you would not be able to nudge your keyboard/pad to keep logged in, if you so wished to keep in-game but doing something else in your room.
It's present in most games. It's standard.
The main point is: It will be "adjusted" (According to Yoshi P's letter today) accordingly to align itself with the server login lobby. In the future I guarantee you can toggle the log-out timer or switch it off completely.
The majority called for this: It happened. Period.
AK / Speed Runs:
If you had to clear trash from day one, no questions asked, what would you be saying now? - A lot of the people who have done quite a few speed runs should be lucky in the fact that you had the ability to speed run whilst you could, even obtaining your gear.
As for the rest of us, we, now along with you, have to do it the intended way. The only impact? You have a little longer to finish. Whereas I have the intended length if not more to acquire my gear.
Trash is trash. Square didn't intend to have them skipped, therefore they should not give you an incentive to kill them. It is to slow you down! Slow your progression by however little.
If they had to do something, it would be to add a world mob loot table, and add items of value but a rare chance.
Damn forbid most of you didn't play FFXI.
