Smooth FPS in instances, nearly unplayable in crowded areas

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction here. From the moment I started playing I had issues especially with crowded areas. I thought this to be my computer, and accepted it as a limit of the graphics my computer could handle.

Then I went into instanced dungeons and the game went from choppy to supersmooth. As a test I put all my settings on high and it still played great. In fact, it ran just as good with low settings. When I came outside the dungeon with these high settings the game wasn't performing worse then with low settings either.

Since then I have been defragging, updating drivers, and boosting game performance with tools and it just doesn't matter. It remains the same. Great in instances, unbearable in cities.

Could someone please point me in a direction that might be the cause of this problem? Is it a crowded server problem? Is it still a hardware problem? An connection problem?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Some of us are hoping new drivers will help alleviate some of these issues. The slow down is natural in some scenario's such as having to render a mass quantity of other players, whereas some seem more like programming issues. Computer specs would help define your situation as well.

It's nothing special. But because of the smooth frames in an instance I was thinking of looking elsewhere then just my hardware.
