    Mogstation, setting up subscription, error code 601 shenanigans

    I am trying to set up a subscription on the mogstation for my account using a credit card, but i keep getting this error:

    An error has occurred..
    Please confirm the status of any relevant options and then try again.
    As repeated registration failure can lead to restrictions being placed on your account, we strongly recommend that you contact the Square Enix Support Centre for guidance before attempting to register a Credit/Debit card again.
    If you are registering a payment method with a payment service provider like ClickandBuy, please contact them directly.
    (Error code: 601)

    I have the same issue. Sent a ticket into support like 4-5 days ago, but haven't gotten anything except the auto response telling me to wait for the actual response.

    Same here, does anyone know what to do? I have tried using Paypal and Ultimate Game cards but to no avail, all are rejected, I cannot extend my subscription!!

    Same problem here. No responses from SE at all as to what this is... They seem to be totally ignoring it. I sense some deeper problem with possible legal issues. Only reason I could see a company so large ignoring a BILLING issue... You would think they would want our money no?

    the way i bypassed this if you have Paypal, is by using Crysta as a Payment Method but not paying via PayPal/Debit Card directly, but rather use UltimateGameCard to buy the Crysta and then use the PayPal method there.

    i know its cumbersome to do but that's the easiest way i got my Crysta.

    it worked for me using UltimatePay and bought Crysta. Everything else didn't worked.

    If they are using the same Error code from 1.0 the 601 is because some bit of information (thought could be incredibly small) is not matching between your SE account and your Debit/Credit card information as it is set up with your bank. In my particular situation it was the smallest of small things I did not have a middle initial with my SE account but did on my bank account information. The awesome part is you can not change your name on your SE account. Luckily I work for my bank and know how these "checks" of information on cards works and had my bank take my middle initial off the system and Voila!!! I had contacted support to figure out what the error meant and that was how I figured out what to do.

    Funny thing is I asked them.. so what if got married and changed my name? Then what would I do? The guy told me I'd have to send them documentation so they could change it on my account for me O.o I haven't set up my sub yet but I know the main reason this is a problem was because they pull name and address info from your account info instead of allowing you to type it all in. Before all you gave them was like card number, expiration date and maybe cvc code? so if the other verification info (name and address) is different on your SE account then what your bank has you're going to get this error. Address you can change on your SE account Name you can not

    I'm shooting in the dark here, since I've haven't had this issue myself, but have you set up your payment method in the Square Enix Account Center? To my knowledge, if you don't go to (from the Mogstation) Square-Enix Account Settings -> Register/Update Payment Method beforehand it may cause issues as that's where I think it stores your payment information for processing.

    I remember having this same error code when trying to register my Visa debit card in the SE Account Management System last year when SE added direct billing - it turns out my issue was simply my browser. I was accessing the page through Firefox with the Noscript addon, which was blocking a benign security script from running in the background (which verifies your card details when you enter them). Disabling Noscript fixed the issue.
