Good lord, 30 minutes too fast? i'm irritated that it's not a 15 minute timer!
If you're gonna go watch a tv show or run to the friggin store you most definitely should log out, you should not be taking up a server spot.

It doesnt take that long. you'll get booted to the character select screen...you click your characters name, click "log in" and guess what.. 23 and a half seconds later, you are back online.
consider those 23 and a half seconds your punishment for afk'ing and causing lag
I was surprised that it wasn't 15 minutes as well
Ya, i would preffer an hour afk kicker, 30 min is too fast for me too at least.

I'm fine with the 30 minute timer, but it is a little unfortunate that the AFK timer will be shorter than some duty finder queues.Does anyone else think the AFK timer is a tad excessive? I mean I think the game definitely needs one but 30 minutes isn't really very generous, thats not enough time to run tot he store really and it barely covers watching a tv show. It just sucks because usually it takes 5 minutes to get in game from clicking on the launcher and thats if theres not a queue time.
It's not a huge deal but I think it would be nice to be bumped up to an hour
It's longer than other mmo's I play which are more like 10 to 15 mins.
Also, with greater capacity, and people not able to stay logged in for hours or even days idle/afk, it should be a lot easier to get back in!
30 minutes is perfect, enough for people to take a break after a wipe, or go take a quick bathroom or smoke break. and if you accidentally exceed the time or something comes up your out of game. also stops people from trying to talk to an AFK person.
Considering how this helps them also analyze true concurrent connections and helps keep resources dedicated to area's that need it. I would say its a perfect number. that helps both the playerbase and the game's resource management equally.
will it still kick you if your in duty finder queue?

They opened up digital sales, I think you're underestimating how many people can't play because everywhere is sold out in the stores.Honestly, since they increased the capacity of the servers during the maintenance a week ago, the longest queue I had to get online was 3 people (only had two queues total; every other time I was able to log on and get in-game instantly). Were people really still having trouble logging on? From my experience on Gilgamesh, an Auto-AFK-kicker wasn't really necessary any more.
When going into que I go do other stuff with the Alt-tab. That sound when I'm going in lets me know. If the AFK timer doesn't have a warning sound then I also add my protest. Average DPS que, when I was Arcanist, was 60 minutes to 2 hours. I'd rather not have that reset because I lost track of time while waiting. Btw I'm not a fate grinder, the only thing I would do while waiting in Que is level my Chocobo.. oh wait. I can't do that can I.
