As a hardcore Diablo player, I LAUGH in the FACE of people who say this game even scrapes the surface of "grindy". Aw so you gotta kill a few extwa monsturs wit yer dunjun lil babby? POOR BABBY!

Are people STILL bringing up the speed running business? Speed run was exploiting a system, there is no argument in that. Drop the god damn argument on that note.
What is being OBSERVED however, is how speed runs are a very obvious symptom of a much larger issue: Dungeons right now are a joke. The key mobs for opening the door was a nice touch, I'll admit that. However, the correct fix wasn't adding more trash. People who were already fed up with wasting time killing trash that yields absolutely no benefit to them, whether it be through xp or items, don't want even more trash added on top of it. They could have solved it by giving them a better drop table OR making trash fights more dynamic rather than the boring, tedious "tank and spank" it. What we're arguing is that there is absolutely NO IMAGINATION NOR INCENTIVE behind the overall design of dungeons. VERY few parts of every dungeon in FFXIV are exciting or fun, but overall, it feels like they're just trying to reinvent the wheel.
I love how the bad implementation of endgame in and old game can be still used an an excuse for the bad implementation of endgame in a new game released over a decade later, what a world we live in.
Really what this game needs right now is a semi difficult 8man dungeon that drops i70 gear, some T2 tokens, say 30 or so per boss and like 50 T1 tokens as a step up from AK but before the primals and BC. oratleast different dungeons besides AK...my god its boring.
