regarding the feature in this patch:
"-An auto-logout feature has been introduced wherein characters that are inactive for 30 minutes will be automatically logged out of the game."[1]

will it avoid the bypass shown on the following link from a diff game but that had the same problem.

as you can see you can use that logic with a gamepad and make my char do looping circles, no need for 3rd apps, just face the gamepad downward with the sticks on x direction.

Will i see people people running against a wall or doing some jog :3?

Probably going to see people auto-running into walls in town or they'll just do the same thing but inside their Inn room.

i don't think auto run is active playing
you don't press anything while auto running, so you're still considered inactive
however, it depends on SE's perspective on this, the player's idle or the character's idle
a confirmation would be nice

Why don't you play the game while you wait? You can even switch classes (crafter, gatherer, subclass) from what you queued as and switch back when the notice pops up. The recent trend of the dps being the last to accept or even require timeouts to get later DPS when the finder pops has been greatly annoying.

You should be there to ready up for the dungeon anyway, so if you can't also manage to hit a button once every 30 minutes then too goddamn bad.

i believe this is due to the already long queues dps have. hearing from a few FC members and experienced this myself, after waiting for 30 minutes or more, you decide to get up and use the washroom, grab a drink, whatever just to come back and notice u missed your chance

All who cry about AFK Kick, really need to learn that you can log out if you go away from the computer/laptop/ps3 its a simple 20 seconds to do. On the other hand if you are wait to do instances, why don't you do some crafting e.g. Alchemist.

It's a band-aid solution to a problem that has already been solved. Clearly the maintenance last week dealt with the login issues. Frankly, the auto-logout on Idle is unnecessary. It should've been a voluntary option, not a mandatory feature.
