Remove auto-logout feature

That goes both ways. There's no reason to have an afk kick anymore either.

It was a permanent solution to a temporary problem. That's the problem.

Dense much? Prime time on a big server there are still queue lines. While some AFKers are selfish enough to go the extra mile and develop a work around, it kicks most of them off, which frees up space. The servers aren't massive and keeping the trash afkers off is always a positive thing.

Try getting over yourselves and accept this is how its going to be. There are no good reasons to be logged in all day. Buncha brats.

That's debatable. Maybe it varies server to server but I didn't have any issues logging into my server before the afk kick. The most that happened to me was I would queue during peak time. Strangely enough, I'm still queuing during peak time. It's not an issue given I'm able to log on 1-2 minutes later but what did the afk kick really do if I have to queue either way and it's not like my queue number changed from 40 to 10. I still queue on average around 6-8.

Also, by my comment on there is absolutely no need to have one, it was in regards to Maple Story..not ARR.

Yeah, I know. I'm just stating my opinion in regards to ARR. ^-^
For me the log-in time decreased. Before the patch I was around 30, after I'm usually <10. Come the first billing peroid it'll probably be gone.

Sounds like the REAL problem was them allowing too many people create characters on servers. Why allow these characters to be made if they know the limit? It's ridiculous.

Over the weekend, I was getting a que every time I logged on. The most I had in que was 12, and I always got on within a couple minutes. But that means that at least Leviathan was at max capacity. If the server was full of people AFKing for hours, I probably wouldn't have gotten in within a couple minutes. So it seems the AFK timer is serving it's purpose.

There is always more chars than what the server can handle, as far as I know. The problem comes when too many of them log in at once even though it's different time zones. I think Yoshi said so himself in an interview.

I still get queued up to log in even in the evening PST which is normally beyond peak time for most of the NA servers. With the AFK timer the queue seems to go by faster and allows me to get into the game. If there's a queue it means that the game has either exceeded the amount of people that can be logged on concurrent or it has hit max cap. Either way this system works and it will keep working.

(Didn't read entire thread so I'm sorry if I'm repeating someone else-) With auto-afk kick I am going to miss the added "immersion" of players randomly AFK'ing in interesting spots as if being part of the world, blending in to the environment as if they were just another NPC, until you realize "hey! that's actually a player". I have a couple of screenshots somewhere.

I have a queue every night still, this includes logging in at 11:30pm est on Siren. If the AFK is keeping things to where I only have to queue and not get the 1017 then I think it is a good feature. Plus every mmo I have played had one anyway, so it was odd to me not having one to begin with.

Oh, do you leave your car in middle of road too, so other ppl can enjoy it? Or are you "i shall park in a way so that it takes two parking slots hurr" kinda guy? Or, when you go to store...you open up what you bought in front of the register and just stand there, so other ppl can't buy stuff? Do you like to stand in a busy doorway and not move? So on and so forth, I can do this all day...

After reading a horrible analogy by some other dude in another thread, I gotta say you packed a few good ones in there.
