What are you talking about, people wanted this so SE gave it to us.A band-aid fix or a diversion for the actual issue that is simply SE's explicit refusal to invest in larger server capacity. AFKers like myself, who learned the hard way of the pains of logging back in, will simply find ways to stay logged in during prime hours. Simplest of which is hold W down.
They already fixed the servers like 2 weeks ago.
Yup, there it was, a few posts down. I am always pleased to see people who can think are playing this game.
wow.. are we that lazy that you can not spend 30 seconds to log back in? no need to be afk for 30 + minutes.. waiting for a duty? craft, fight mobs, heck just hit the jump key once every few minutes.. not that difficult to do.. after all i bet most of you sat for hours trying to log in the first 2 weeks..
this also prevents afk people from being in a duty ( aka if they fall asleep waiting or something)
they will probably add a timer feature or turn on/off as ffxi had once things are stable..

Auto-logout is Brilliant. It keeps our servers free of people clogging it up for no reason. As there are no bazaars etc. Also, epeeners who want to sit in a city with their leet gear on? Gimme a break!
The servers will run smoother and be better for afk'ers not being on them.
They're selling digital copies of the gam again. Which means more people joining. They've increased the server capacity but unless they keep this afk-boot feature, soon we will have the login issues again even after they add new servers. And, serious, if you're going to be away for more than 30min, you could as well just leave the game and let your pc cool down a bit.
Excalibur is still full and not accepting new characters...which means my daughters still cannot join me there. I am hoping that the AFK-Kick helps to open Excali and other "Full" worlds to new characters. If it does not then I am hoping the World Transfers will allow us to finally play together.
However my own personal situation gets resolved though, I am in favor of the Auto-Kick Timer to help with server loads and Lag in the Sanctuaries (where it seems alot of peeps afk).
Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.
You know, I find myself incapable of understanding that behavior. I see lots of people that just hang around, in the middle of main thoroughfares, in active mode, bouncing up and down with their supposedly leet gear.
Wonder if any of them would explain that behavior to me if I asked..... Anyone?
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

It's simple. They're just showing off. They want people to see their stuff and think "I wish I had that."You know, I find myself incapable of understanding that behavior. I want this removed also i liked being logged in while i sleep so i don't miss anything in FC/LS i can go to the hourglass and still be updated when i log in about what happened while i was away. this will not me stop though i have a controller and this thing called a rubber band, i just find this inconvenient. They need to fix their bot/rmt problems before they start punishing the rest of us.
