Oh, do you leave your car in middle of road too, so other ppl can enjoy it? Or are you "i shall park in a way so that it takes two parking slots hurr" kinda guy? Or, when you go to store...you open up what you bought in front of the register and just stand there, so other ppl can't buy stuff? Do you like to stand in a busy doorway and not move? So on and so forth, I can do this all day...

How can you attack her perfect analogy with your garbage ones? A park bench is meant for sitting. A phone is meant for anticipated calls. A game is meant to be actively played. Go back to school. You need it.

I guess in a game that has /tell and other chat functions, you are not to anticipate communications if you are not there?

There is not a single line of information where it say I have to actively use the service I pay monthly for. And no, it's not the game I pay for, that I already did when I bought it. I pay for the services that the game utilize.

And it's kinda annoying if the game disconnects you after you have received a /tell. Specially if it was something semi important.

Wouldn't being logged in AFK surrounded by 200+ other people near an aethernet, with people zoning in/out, crafting, mounting on/off, and
running around the area be the same thing? Your graphics card doesn't just stop while you are AFK in game. Maybe I am missing something
here?

Ahh, me bad. It actually had 20% less GPU load then the game itself had. Thought the video was more high-res. Still not afk friendly if that is what they where going for.

Why bother implementing this when logins no longer require a ridiculous amounts of time & guessing, and the queues are back to functioning as they should?

Dungeon Finder, DD, Desktop. Won't happen to me, but i bet there will be some mad about it. I don't see much use in that feature NOW, a week ago it would be great, now its just... not usefull anymore.

You can fish some fishes while you wait. Some fishes give you also some gil.
The best thing about the content finder is, you can do all different stuff while you wait. You don't need to be AFK.

Likelky becuase they are set to re open sales soon, (nearly) all worlds are now open for new characters and a afk timer should help avoiding the repeat of 3012 and 1017 as a new flood of people that could *possibly* be joining us in a short while.

No, everyone didn't want it. There was a part of the community that felt this would be a good thing because they were raging about not being able to get in on launch. Now that rush is over - we've got sensible quantities of players around - and it isn't needed anymore. But now we're stuck with it. Yay.
