Hahahhaahah oh man I can't believe people are actually asking for this to be removed. You guys HAVE to be trolling? Please? I was still unable to log onto Tiamat most of the time due to 1017 until tonight.

Go back to single player games you ignorent nubs.

Give me the option to turn this off. Sometimes I leave the game on so I can watch and see if anything interesting is happenning while I do other things. There multiple reasons why this is just annoying. Get rid of it or give me the option to turn it off myself like in FFXI.

^ This is needed!! Its good to go back after being afk and see if LS or FC is up to something you might miss if you cannot keep the history (logged out). Other arguments are searching for walkthrough, recepies and stuff and still being inlogged. Stress factor of the afk kick timer is also annoying, you know you must do something within 30 mins.. Make it optional!

Create a looping macro. AFK timer defeated. If purely movement based, auto run inside an inn room. Stop complaining. While it may inconvenience some, it will benefit others. OP and those that want this feature removed, you only have those that abused it to stay logged on intentionally to avoid the inevitable 1017 error should they log out. Those people were the symptom of inadequate servers, but were easy scape goats to blame for those of us that played the log on mini game for hours at a time.

30 minutes is too short. I've had duty finder waits that were more than twice that. I don't know if being in the duty finder counts as being active, but either way just on a matter of principle the game should not kick you for being inactive for a shorter period of time than the game forces you to wait.

As for "This day and age" ... wanna play that card? In this day and age, you should not be wasting all the energy by leaving your CPU/Console and monitors/televisions on for 30+ minutes without them being used.

30 Minutes is hardly short, your essentially saying, the AFK Kicker is too good at identifying I am AFK fix it so I can remain AFK.

The AFK Timer functions for a lot of reasons. 1 to keep the population of the server on controllable levels. 2 to handle any type of state n the future where servers may fill, Expansion, Update, Etc. and Lastly it helps the servers only apply resources where they are needed, 100 people AFK in a city stealing resources from a zone that has a huge FATE, or a large population clearing is poor resource utilization.

They have incorporated a feature to improve the general wellness of the player base and the reliability of the servers. and your raging because you cant watch a show while Q'd for a dungeon. if you dont want to have to worry about the AFK timer, check in, people miss the accept button all the time for Q's and its due to AFKers. this will just improve the dungeon finder reliability too.

Plz remove it. The issue of the server being full has been fixed, so I don't understand why they implemented this auto-timeout feature at all.

Yeah people complained so it got implemented, SE gets to have bad servers and everyone "wins". Same reason why they changed the AK speed runs, everyone complained as if you couldn't kill the mobs in the zone if you wanted to. They didn't even bother to fix the many bugs in AK that exist, but they just managed to nerf the speed run.
