Yup, there it was, a few posts down. I am always pleased to see people who can think are playing this game.
Actually, it is one factor that has attracted me to the FF mmos.
Oh know here we go, people who need to educate the rest of us because we're all idiots and they are some sort of rocket scientist and do so by taking quotes out of context and using them to support their opinions.
Totally needed, thank you Square Enix. Now DD's get kicked when they surf on the desktop while in Dungeon Browser for an hour or more and forget to move their character every now and then.
I'm 110% against the auto-log out feature. I usually logout when i'm finished playing the game anyways but come on.... I expected this from Free to play MMO's but didn't expect SE to drop this low. Guess i was used to FFXI where they didn't have the auto-log out when AFK. Just seems very generic imo. I hated this feature in DCUO and i hate it here.
It's the small things that make games for me and it's the small things that break them as well. Simple things like how chocobo music quiets down when you stop to look @ the map. Such a small feature but they took time to make it that way and i thought it was great. But Auto-log out for AFK's is a horrible thing even if i don't use it. So many people stayed logged in around release because of all the issues getting on. Even today i couldn't get online, just kept saying Cannot obtain NA/EU characters or something. Struggling to get on the game should not even be a concern @ this point....

*Sigh* Auto-logout feature is in most MMOs. I think its a fine feature maybe lengthen the time it before it logs you out.
Whats the problem, just log back in when your AT you PC/PS3.
The past couple of days looking at all the QQing on these forums, you guys make WoW players look good now...

its problem because wow players is moving in wen I was playing ffxi people was not very rude and inept on strategy. any they always blame other people when they are the ones who dies.*Sigh* Auto-logout feature is in most MMOs. You have 371 posts. Are they all as ridiculous as this one?

Auto-logout an issue for you? Face a wall and put a rock on your up arrow. Face a wall and turn your gamepad over so the stick is pushed up.
I'll be interested to see if the logout is based solely on movement, or whether messing with menus (eg crafting log) and inventory will prevent it, or indeed FC chatting.
Since checking inventory, chatting and messing around in menus are all activity it's highly unlikely that an auto-logout will ignore such activity. However controllers with auto-fire triggers, and other 'methods' for running yourself into a wall or whatever are also easily defeated since there is never going to be a 30 minute period in game where a legitimate player is almost literally sitting on the button like that.Auto-logout an issue for you? Not to mention that the feature will undoubtedly evolve and improve over time, let's see how it works in practice and give constructive feedback from there.
