You may be misunderstanding the point of the thread. It's a "Why don't you give this a shot? It might help.", not a "YOU MUST DO IT THIS WAY". Plenty of people I've talked to don't even know this alternate camera mode exists, and in my personal experience it has sometimes improved the quality of my LS/FC tanks quite a lot!The way I look at it is.... which one are you more used to? I played 1.0 so, I am more used to Legacy Movement. People who are used to the more WoW type controls probably are used to games that use that setup. As long as people are dodging who the eft cares?
Though, I think with Titan (Hard) specifically you should try out the Legacy Controls for weights in last phase. It helped a lot of people I've suggest this to, but really only in that particular instance.
Besides, there's a 30+ page long thread on miqote bums or something and with Legacy Cameras, you aren't gazing at your chara's bum all the time. That's a plus, isn't it?

Always used the legacy style controls and always moving my camera with my mouse on right click hold. I don't know how would you move and dodge properly with strafing and all of that bs...
My problem is NOT with your preference to be slow and gimp; you can be as bad as you like, it's just fine by me (as long as you're not in my group). My problem is that you came into a thread where someone is actually trying to give useful advise only to spout nonsense which has little to do with the topic at hand.
I may do it differently than others because I am a healer, most of the turning and running I do is done with the arrow keys using my right hand. Unless I'm doing a direct hard turn with a or d, such as for dodging, I usually and just pressing w and doing my turns with the arrows. I find the camera turns more precisely for me with the arrows than the mouse, Now, I admit I am an inverted-camera type though, and I know how that drives people utterly insane, haha.
Moving by keyboard? Preposterous! Well at least for me, it just doesn't feel right. That and you only have 8 possible strict directions to move... Alternative is using mouse but then you sacrifice some uses of the mouse while doing so. With that said: Analog(/controller), aka master race! lol.*
That and the analogs sole use is for moving, aka by moving you aren't sacrificing other uses for the analog... Since it has no other uses lol. But yeah, as I've said this is just how I feel about it. >.>
*The only somewhat downside to using a controller instead of a keyboard/mouse for me is the method for targeting... I've gotten quite good at using the auto target button(X) to get on the target I want, well that and strict rules, but it's still a hindrance compared to a mouse. Nevertheless though, I'm confident that I target quick enough that people wouldn't know that I'm even using a controller lol.
But somewhat more on topic: I don't know how people like the walking backwards, sure preferences but still... Surely walking backwards instead of running-ish backwards can be pain at times, that and to me character moving on spot... Looks weird to me, probably because literally are rotating on spot lol. Not that I totally don't understand, but to me there are more cons than pros.

On the one hand legacy controls are playable but still pretty bad, on the other hand standard controls are ... *shudders* ... no, just no, not playable imo.
