Can anyone point out what I did wrong here? I have two 5850's in CFX which, at the moment, we all know is pretty pointless. The Beta drivers are supposed to give a performance upgrade in general on FFXIV and allow you to apply a CFX profile.

Now, unless something has changed (and I'm not sure if it has), upgrading GPU drivers in CFX or SLI is a complete pain in the mammaries. You uninstall the driver, reboot to safe mode and do a driver sweep, then power down, remove your additional card, boot up, install driver, reboot, power down, install second card again, reboot and apply CFX.

I did all of this, but when I installed 13.10 I got the MOM.Implementation error on reboot and then everything went to hell, the computer started crashing, then crashing on boot forcing system restores. I couldn't get the computer to stay online long enough to try and clean the .NET registry and eventually I had to use the W8 system restore.

Thankfully the rig is up and running again, but I'm a bit annoyed over the driver as I see a lot of people are really happy with the result. Did I make a glaring error, and is it safe just to upgrade your drivers now without going through the merry dance of removing cards? I ask because Steam gives me the option to auto-update my drivers which seems to suggest this might be ok?
