That didnt answer his question.
There is no point in leveling a craft to 50 as is, as there are much easier alternatives. Also endgame gear that can be crafted is not only limited but a disappointment.
Some one needs to make the base weapons for relic weapons. You know those green weapons that you have to attach 2 tier 3 materia to. Also, quests run out eventually, which means free gear runs out, especially for second (and third, etc.) jobs to level up in. There also needs to be a source for making weapons to convert into materia after spiritbonding. Which is where the other crafts come into play. Then there's alchemist and culinarian (though not enough people actually use potions and food since it's hardly necessary).
I'm not denying that are problems (there's tons of them) but I wouldn't go as far as saying that crafting is completely useless.

I would. The recipe requiring melding to get AF? Stopgap. Some one needs to make the base weapons for relic weapons. You know those green weapons that you have to attach 2 tier 3 materia to. I'm more speaking from my sever standpoint where multiple people like myself have there crafts maxed. Why would a new person need to level crafts when a simple shout can get it done most if not all crafters will meld your relic for free.
Food is more or less worthless.
Fishing has lost all value and even mining and botanist seems like a big Meh.
Might not be useless but the give FAR exceeds the gain.

I actually accidentally HQ my relic weapon for BLM.. I saw the 55 weapon, and bought the item needed on the AH for 9k (there were a ton up) but I figured I'd splurge, Crafted it up HQ. Then found out it was for Relic, bought the Savage Might for like 20k, and melded that puppy up in about 5 mins of work.. so yeah, blm Relic done for 29k and I'm sure that price will be half that by FridaySome one needs to make the base weapons for relic weapons. Wait how was this going to bring money?
Another big question; Maybe someone has tried this but, Where do you Spirit bond?? Do FATES work? do you have to go farm world mobs?? Because I leveled several crafts 39- to 48 and the HQ Tools were only like 60% done... so how am I supposed to spirit bond?
Considering how many repairs it took to level 38-48 (a lot $$$$) What's the point of wearing that old tool and grinding out a bunch of lower level stuff to finally finish the Spirt bond?? I feel like it would take days of work..

yes there is. u need tht craft tht high to be able to meld ur own matieria for lvl 50 armor. and even s i am so they come out with better recipes. nothing is ever gonna come out with anything GREAT at launch xD
Tis true, however none of those hq recipes are new those have been around for over 3 years. Not to bring up 1.0 but seriously the game just doesnt favor crafters if you can make all this new gear and simply recycle recipes.
