Tis true, however none of those hq recipes are new those have been around for over 3 years. Not to bring up 1.0 but seriously the game just doesnt favor crafters if you can make all this new gear and simply recycle recipes.

Not me. I outlevelled the vast majority of those things and bought stuff to keep myself up to date for my level when the quests failed to keep up with me.Anyone else feel like their gear was just flat out given to them constantly until they hit 50?
There's giving the option of an HQ piece for those that want to use that instead of standard gear.

AF was the worst...
That was the point where I turned around to me BF and said "WOW so they like.. just give you be best gear 45-50, and all I had to do was check a few points on map.. took like 5 mins" It was so easy it felt broken...
I think Yoshi's Idea was that he wanted everyone to start 50 with a "decent" set of gear, so nobody was going gimp into the dungeons.. But.. the handholding, and done without any thought of how killing all the 45-50 recipies would affect the game is pretty shocking...
Basically killed Felt/Cobalt gear in one swoop.. Highly disappointing.
I'm actually running a test right now.. I've put up some amazing double/triple melded gear for a decent price considering the work/number of materia that blew up and I keep lowering the price until one sells... 3 days in now...
Nobody in their right mind is going to waste the money it's worth to buy up melded gear for the price in... especially with the gear already capped at the best stats...
The whole system is just a mess.

WHAT?AF was the worst...

LOL, I'm not really seeing anything outside belts/rings/neck that are worth spending money on until Militia at 55.. You can HQ, double/triple meld some of the 45-50 gear.. which will promptly be completely obsolete by the time you waste the money needed to land the last meld.
I haven't finished all the AF quests yet, by for PLD I literally just had to go click 4 points close together in the same zone, and would get armor on each on point.
Made me miss 1.0 and the somewhat challenging group fights where at least I felt I earned my AF

So true lol I have dark heavy set melded and pretty much all my i70 weapons melded but I mean for the time it took I could have just bought darklight and did primal battle for weapon..well i also have darklight and primal weapons but thats besides the point.'

normal bronze sword aint worth the effort
Rare bronze sword with better stats, now your talkin.
Man, they really fucked this game up lol
I agree crafting is broken - its easier and cheaper to get gear by questing or just doing fates. Only crafter needs items from other crafters, you just lvl craft for melding and for relic...
If you can craft it, you can convert it to materia eventually( If you have the class for it). Materia = money in the markets. Crafting at that also means you can repair anything, without having to go to town. We'll see after maintenance how well they did lowering the prices of dark matter. What you used as an example, isn't a good example. Low level crafting has been made very accessible, thus low level gear is in the market like crazy. I really appreciate this design, going deeper into the crafting as a goldsmith you are more likely to make good money from mid 20's to 50.
I personaly find the gear obtained through dungeons at lvl 30's to be more interesting and yield better stats than crafted gear. This goes without saying that any dungeon gear might be more fruitful than crafted. Stats vary with dungeon drops. However, converting gear to materia is very important. So the journey to 50 will always wield some sort of benefit as a crafter. I've noticed though that job quests give you a decent weapon, and your choosing of an armor piece. They don't give you a full set though. So even if they do assist you in earning a piece of armor, they don't exactly give you every piece you need to be at your full potential.
