I was actually kind of excited about this, thought it would be a handy resource to help me locate where particular gear will drop or how to fine certain mats but I've noticed a few things are seemingly unfinished.

First off, I do realize this was just launched and will most likely be something they will be constantly refining and adding to. That being said, I hope they can look to this posts for a few things that might help refine the feature.

The very first thing I noticed was when I tried to sign in. Maybe I was doing something wrong so if anyone can correct me I would greatly appreciate it. I entered my user name and password, same as I would to log into the game, but I didn't see the "Authenticator" field, I may have clicked through it but after several tries I just gave up and decided logging in wasn't really necessary.

On to the next thing I noticed. Again it might be PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair) but I had to actually search for something specific before I could open up the fields to look for general things (MRD / Armor / Head / Lv50+) would one of the buttons along the top have taken me right there? Did I just need to spend more time tinkering? Should this be the first page main search window?

Lastly, and this was a little frustrating, I was trying to get all the Cavalier Armor for my WAR out of Brayflox and wanted to verify that all the pieces were in that dungeon and which boss/chest would contain what I need. Once I found it, which wasn't really hard, it said something like;
Drops from enemy: NO
Bought from vendor: NO
Sell to vendor: NO:
(fourth field I cannot recall about location): NO

It said nothing about where it is actually located. Several other Items I searched in succession after this also yielded similar "useful" information.

That seems to be the first gripes I ran into with the app. If they can fix/I can figure out, how to make this more user friendly, then this would be a really handy companion for crafting or just making sure you know where that gear you want is located. Again, I'm sure these things will be updated and adjusted as they go. I love this app and look forward to seeing it grow with the game.

PS: Sorry if my info is sketchy, I only toyed with it for 10 min last night and I don't have my iPad with me right now to verify these questions. I was hoping the knowledgeable forums could inform me of my ignorance, I know they are good for that.

I hope they make an ipad version too. Usually I have my ipad next to me with the map when I'm going into dungeons instead of the pop up map. Would me nice to have a normal ipad version instead of the magnified iPhone one. But overall I like it so far

I found the 'location' of each item to be rather lacking as well, especially pertaining to the loot dropped from chests in dungeons, but then i realized the required level for the items where the same as the level of the dungeon as to where it dropped, it helped with identifying where to get said item, but the database should really have more info on the chests from the dungeons.

I like app so far but instead of telling us everywhere we can't obtain the item, just tell us how to get it like its in this dungeon or that would be helpful...

It is a good start, but needs a few updates.

1)Items need to list what dungeon they are from.

2)Notable locations, such as dungeons, should be listed.

3)'Selling NPC' should list the Grand Company an item is obtained from and the number of seals needed.

Saw this in its own thread. Trying to assist the devs by having all this info in one place!

I know I'm not the only person who's been trying the new app out!

It's been somewhat handy thus far, however, when using it, I can't help but feel that it is often just an inferior version of xivdb. Let me show you what I mean.

Let's say I want to look for an two-handed conj upgrade. I navigate to the appropriate section and start to browse, and reach problem number one:

1) No way to filter; you can only sort by pre-determined methods.

While this is adequate if I'm just looking for the next tier of gear, if I want to look for something more specific, like say.... body pieces with +control, my only choice is to manually look at every item in a certain range.

So I find a potential upgrade (ex: Madman's Whispering Rod), and here is where I find the next issue:

2) The vast majority of items give no indication on where the item is procured.

So...not only does it give me no indication as to where to get the item (it's crafted), but it also doesn't even indicate that it's used in the WHM relic qeapon questline. So that would be #3!

3) Data is often incomplete or missing.

I'm mainly posting this since the app definitely has potential, and I'd like to see it improved. What are your suggestions?

I forgot to mention one thing. While being able to see our character gear is handy, so far as I can tell we can only see our current character level and not much else. Therefore:

4) Please allow us to see our current class levels, gil, GC Seals, and Rested Bonus on the character page.
