how so? it creates a lvel playing field in both exp and gil generation. after all just like those with 50 battle classes at this point should have leveled slower and enjoyed the journey, should the crafters not also be doing the same on their journey to end game crafting??

No it really doesn't create an even playing field. All it means is that DoW's and DoM's will level even easier than crafters comparatively. You forget that crafters don't have fates. Sure crafters get great xp from leve's but that also involves time invested in gathering the right resources for those results, and if you buy them off the market then instead you have to raise the gil. It's a matter of opportunity cost, yeah I can grind out a crafter level in 30 minutes of crafting with leves, but I spent hours gathering resources or earning the money to buy the resources needed.how so? it creates a lvel playing field in both exp and gil generation. after all just like those with 50 battle classes at this point should have leveled slower and enjoyed the journey, should the crafters not also be doing the same on their journey to end game crafting??
Sure it's profitable at the low levels due to the lower shard and material costs, but you'll find yourself losing money at the higher levels unless you farm all your materials. Again, its a matter of opportunity cost... the cost is perceived differently but there is still a cost.
