The first boss in Qarn hardly does any damage, if you do it right. There are 2 1shot mechanics in that fight that you have to avoid:

Doom: He casts Doom on everyone in the group once in a while. When this happens, you will die once the counter on Doom runs out. In order to remove Doom, you have to move to the tile on the ground that lights up (the lights shift among the three tiles)

Final Sting: The bee adds that the boss spawns need to be burst down quickly, before they manage to get off their Final Sting ability, which one shots anyone getting hit by it. The ability is interruptable, if dps is low.

There are very few encounters that are gear dependent until you reach cap. Most fights are just execution heavy.

I breezed through all dungeons until i finished the Lv50 Story. No Problem. Then I proceed to accept the next set of side quests for post game after i finished watching the credits. The first of these dungeons unlocked is Armpitdoor Keep...

I have no idea what this beast is, but it popped up on duty finder, so I que for it. After like 2+ hours of waiting in que, I finally get into the dungeon. And the first boss I have to fight, is my party. They look at my gear and automatically know that I am not ready for this (since I'm in my gallant armor). I failed this dungeon before I even fought my first mob.

Now I'm pretty sure my party is right, I am definitely not ready for this dungeon.

After some research, I found out, that I need to get Darklight Gear (fine with me- progression is nice). But please Square Enix, move the NPC that gives the Wanderer's Palace quest into the same room as the Armpitdoor Keep.
You do NOT need full Darklight in order to do AK, that is a ridiculously baseless claim, especially as a tank. All you need to do, is learn the instance, and make sure all your items are over ilevel 40 (this may require getting some darklight accessories).

The problem with AK, is the second boss, and the second boss is a dps check, not a mitigation check. In fact, it does laughable damage to the tank.

What you need is a patient group that's willing to teach the dungeon to you, and then you're set. And with the removal of skipping trash, it's going to be even easier (but also slower) for you to do.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I find it very frustrating when players express that content is too hard for them, and their suggestions are to make it easier. I will not deny that tank is the most demanding class, and they can be hard and stressful to play under certain circumstances. But seriously. Ppl need stop thinking that the solution to these issues is trivialized game content.

I haven't been seeing the same problems. I've healed for years in other MMOs, and I finally decided that FFXIV would be the MMO that I choose to be a tank. I'm familiar with tanking mechanics even as someone who has mostly healed, and I really haven't seen an "obscene" learning curve in this game yet. I'll say the difficulty definitely increased a notch in the low-to-mid 30s, but it was still within the realm of basic tanking mechanics, in my opinion.
