From theorycrafting, +1 weapon damage is worth around 8 primary stats. So I doubt any AF+1 piece will be a bigger upgrade than Relic+1.I just have the AF2 chest currently and the regular Relic (not getting +1 yet, getting more pieces of AF2 first since it's a bigger upgrade).

Don't feel like uploading a screenshot right now ^^

I've seen the Monk's AF+1 and it a really hideous yellow, I freaking hate it, so disappointed in our AF+1 color (the red is awesome though, but so little of it).
Here you can kinda see it, with different lighting than in the game:
XIVModels (move the model by clicking the middle mouse button)

I'm a white mage though, I'm more interested in being capable of surviving + the pieces will give me a higher heal as well as more MP.From theorycrafting, +1 weapon damage is worth around 8 primary stats. So I doubt any AF+1 piece will be a bigger upgrade than Relic+1.

For me AF2 is better than Relic +1.
For a DPS, sure it's likely that the Relic +1 would give you a slight boost in damage compared to a AF2 piece, but you should also take into account that Relic +1 have the same price as 2 (depening on which obviously) AF2 pieces.

Magic Damage is still important for healing, though. The 3 boost from Thyrus to +1 is 24~ MND, not including everything else on the weapon.I'm a white mage though, I'm more interested in being capable of surviving + the pieces will give me a higher heal as well as more MP.

I know it is, but like I said, you'll be getting 2 AF2 pieces for the same price.
Lets say you're upgrading gloves and boots from DL to AF2.
You'll get 12 more MIND, but that's not all, you'll get defense as well and of course vit, spell speed and so on.
Sure, Relic +1 will also give you some stats, but for survival, AF2 is still better.
I didn't say that the staff wouldn't make your healing stronger, it's just that the difference isn't worth it right now.

We agree to disagree, then. ^^ I know more HP and Defense will help on things you can't avoid or when your tank is terrible, but even then eventually you run out of being able to acquire 2 pieces of AF+1 for the price of relic+1. That spell speed also has a lesser chance at making a difference over the straight better healing increase from relic+1.I know it is, but like I said, you'll be getting 2 AF2 pieces for the same price.
