could mining be made more tedious?

seriously the 2 second delay between swings to reduce people gathering too much too fast. but the exact same XP expectations as the other classes which get fates shared XP in pt's and tons of quests. while mining may reap some gil rewards by selling off the extras having to swing the pick 4,000,000 times to get a level even with the GC item increasing xp is a very tedious task.
if you plan to gather shards for a Hand class you get the honor of getting one at a time regardless of level unless you toss 400gp to a single node for double shards and 12-13 xp per while the crafting class can burn through an hours worth of mined shards in about 10 minutes or less. not exactly a well laid ratio for the miner.

they need to either reduce the xp/level for gathering classes or remove the delay between tries or even better yet increase quantity of shards per strike every 20 levels making a 40-50 miner get three per try and simply lose those useless 400gp skills
