PS3 Video output, user interface outside safe frame area

PS3 using component cables outputting at 720 LCD monitor

The Chat Message window and Mini map screen cannot be moved and are displaying outside of the visible area.

We used to refer to this area on CRT television as Safe Frame. That is what's happening here.. about 10% of the right side of the mini map is missing, and 5% of the left side of the chat message area is missing.

Both these elements cannot be moved on the PS3 version. They are stuck in their positions.

This problem also persists at the character selection screen. The "LEGACY" icon at the bottom left is missing like 20% on the right side.

Even using HDMI cables, on a plasma 1080p TV, I get some content outside the "safe zone".

Most PS3 games allow the user to define the screen borders that will be used by the game played. I had spent hours looking for that in FFXIV to no avail. Then, I just moved the stuff that I could, and said 'forget it' about the rest. Hopefully this gets resolved, as losing as much as you are saying is actually an issue. My loss was of the order of 1-3% of total area, in about a 5 square border around my screen.

Also, did you look to see if your tv has different display formats (I know my TV has Full, H-Full [which cuts out the edges], Just, 4:3, and zoom). Maybe some Aspect adjustment options? I know my ps3 use to have similar issues on some games until I messed with its display. However, if other games you play don't cut anything off and you know your TV is adjusted right, then I do suggest posting more info about your ps3.
