Then I guess they created the crafting classes to distract us from the search of that hidden prupose.

If SE does not fix the economy they should save money and stop updating crafting and gathering. Put it towards battle content. I pray to god they do not do that, but atm there is almost 0 reason to level crafting or gathering in FFXIV:ARR unless you want the achievements.
You better get in that kitchen and start cooking then, because you're only really gonna turn a profit from food that way, as of right now, no you're not gonna make much off ARM or BSM because gear is very easy to get,of course you're not gonna make money that way, but everyone needs to eat lol. Another thing is as of right now, alot of people don't know how to make money in this game, or turn a profit on high demand items, or even know which items are in high demand at the moment, I really don't see the need for people to be so gil hungry right now anyway, all I see in this thread is: "I want my millions of Gil now, why is no one buying me precious HQ gear?". As it stands Darklight and AF+1 are the best bets for gear, but come a few patches down the road, we may see an influx in demand for HQ crafted gear and what these items will bring to the table, so for the time being, forget about selling gear in the market, and focus on what is in demand: materia for your relic weapons and materia for your level 40 gear, food, and mats, because lets face not everyone is gonna gather their own mats so you can still make money that way.

    I don't understand this rage.

Some people do things like put Orange Juice up for 1 gil or other things cheap because it makes up for the capitalistic slobs who won't reply to a noob "Hey where can I get orange juice for a quest?" that costs 10 gil or something, but the AH 'gurus' sell them for 1,000 like in beta.

A lot of people do that to help out other folks. They don't need the 100 gil from the vendor, so they put it up for 1 gil on the Market to help out someone who might cannot afford it because other people are trying to rip them off.

    Its called Free Market

I have a WHM at 50 , I refuse to do my Relic Weapon quest because I am not buying the Materia for 75k-90k ,so I will either wait it out till people drop the price through a competing free Market or I get lucky and get the Materia I need on my own...........

Either or , this is what happens when Crafting is easy mode........
Free Market working as intended .

Edited: The materia I need is the highest Priced Materia , everything else is well below 10k !

And sometimes it is a horrible thing. Remember 1.0 at launch (or how they butchered the game with this 2.0)? Yeeeah, that was one big change. See how that went? Yeah, change isn't always a good thing.

And what exactly would that be? A currency of sorts only to be used for teleports and repairs, kinda like an equivalent of anima? Ooh, ooh, maybe some sort of collector's item? Hmm, I wonder...

    *sigh* These people...

I'm sure there will be elitists who will scoff and say "Pfft, that was easy!" but in all honesty I did have trouble with Hydra, Garuda, and even Titan. It took some concentration, and a considerable amount of devoted time to beat them all. (Especially Titan.) So really, in the end you can't use the hardcore gamer progression as evidence to the ease of a game.
Thanks for elaborating, the original post just wasn't enough to invite further discussion in my opinion.

However the fighting difficulty aside, I do agree with his opinion that gear is easy to obtain; they're handed to you along the way of the story and I've already read a couple of posts about how you don't even have to necessary be decently geared to fate grind to 50 at which point all the money you save along the way is simply funneled into level 50ish equipment. What happens to the market for items level 1-49 then? If there's only a market for high level equipment and there are many high level crafters it's no wonder prices will drop and people will panic about the market. I don't see any foreseeable solution and I share the opinion with some of the other posters here that unless things are changed DoL/DoH are irrelevant to the game. Any changes requiring DoW/M to contribute to the solution though will probably result in some form of massive outcry.

Find out what materia you need, purchase (or craft) items that can yield that materia, and do fates for an afternoon, or hell, go farm something that you need for your tradeskill, and you've got your materia and other mats for free (apart from your own time).
I swap my 100% soulbinds all the time, with replicas or some other item that will yield materias that sell well, and just keep a ready supply of items to do this with. There is no need to ever purchase materia, unless you never kill or craft anything. I find rings, and necks are a great source of materia, and for crafting, especially when you are doing ingots, swap all your 100% soulbound stuff, with replicas or other interesting items, and see the percentage skyrocket before you've gone through your stacks. - DONT BUY MATERIA!

There is no "true price" of an item. The "true price" is whatever the market decides it to be. If you don't want to sell your items for less than what you deem your true price to be, then don't. No one's forcing you. If your stuff won't sell at that price, then tough. Just because your objective function only includes a maximization on the utility of cost doesn't mean others' doesn't include time. If they are willing to take a profit cut in order to sell faster/more, then that's a decision you don't get to judge.

Over time, and on average, markets will arrive at equilibrium points. Just because that point isn't what you'd like it to be doesn't mean the economy is broken.
