Macros and Pad... how to see my ability CDs?

When using KB/mouse, you can have multiple bars on your screen. Is there a way to do that for Pad players? I want to set up a 2nd bar with abilities that are on cd so I can see when they are up because macros don't have the cd animation on the icons. I don't want to have to keep pressing an ability to see if it's up or not.

i set them to a different hot bar
and check the hot bar the quickly go back to my main

/micon "ability name" first line in your macro.

I don't think this entirely functions as it should. It does not display tooltip or range, but it will display cd spiral and energy cost. As well as the correct spell icon.
