This is exactly what I thought. This seems like the most likely solution. It seems the graphics driver is either not installed, or it isn't installed properly, meaning windows is defaulting to a generic Microsoft driver. That's what I saw as well:
Card name: Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor
Driver Name:
Driver File Version: ()
Seems like you're missing the drivers for your video card. Try downloading the drivers you're missing on your machine. You can find the list of available drivers on MSI's support page:

In my previous post, I meant ActiveX. I apologize. Was multi tasking work with typing a response. Haha
Probably a dumb quest at this late in the conversation...
Have you right clicked and said "Launch as administrator"... ?
I had this happen to me when I launched as a non-admin after an update. I'm thinking they try and make some registry changes or something with new builds without an auto-elevate capability in the code.
I had this same problem on my brand new gaming computer with Windows 8... as it turned out, the game actually needed some older DLLs that were no longer included in the newest Direct X update. I found a pack online that contained a big group of DLLs older games require to play properly. I'm trying to find the link now, I'll post it here for you if I can find it. Someone also suggested installing a random older game on your computer, because those often include the older DLLs you need. Good luck.
Also, give the "run as administrator" thing a shot. You never know.
I built many windows 8 PC and most of them needed an older DX9 download. Many assumes that having DX11 in the system would be a cumulative install but it's not. I've also came across when I needed to enable dot net framework 1.1 on older MMO launchers by activating the 3.0 version or something along that line but I don't think FFXIV requires that.
Make sure you have the latest drivers for the GTX 770m (At least start there and work your way backwards with the versions)
Make sure you've created exceptions for the game in any security software you may be running. (I've had to do this for Comodo IS Pro and MSE)
Run the game with elevated privileges (Run as Admin) [This assumes that you are NOT logged into the Administrator account]
Good Luck!
