No quest for chocobo riding?

I have gone to the other 2 nations via flight and talked to both of their leaders. I never received a follow up quest that I saw. I am now level 20 but have no quest for getting the ability to ride. What did I miss? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Its a quest after you choose your grand company, not part of the main story line. The NPC will be near your GC though.

Grand Company. You will be prompted to choose one during the main story line, at which time the quest for your chocobo will become available.

A lot of the quests are xx ~ xx range.

What that means is just because other people got it at level 20 doesn't mean you'll get it at level 20. I think I was 22 before I got on my fat yellow bird.

Mainly 99% of things if you just follow the main storyline, you'll run into it.

The quest becomes available only after you join a Grand Company, and it's given out by an NPC standing right next to the GC merchant. Level is irrelevant.

Well, except that you can't do the quests to join a Grand Company until you hit 20.
